Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna (April 25, 1919 – Mar 17, 1989) was a Congress Party leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he later joined Bharatiya Lok Dal and worked with Charan Singh.

He was the sixth child of his parents. was born on 25th April, 1919 in a small village called Bhugani in the district of Pauri Garhwal in Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttarakhand). His father Ravati Nandan Bahuguna was a village Patwari and his mother Dipa, a simple house wife. The Bahuguna family hails from Bughani, Pauri Garhwal but settled in Allahabad.

Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant (August 30, 1887 - March 7, 1961) was a statesman of India, an Indian independence activist, and one of the foremost political leaders from Uttarakhand (then in United Provinces) and of the movement to establish Hindi as the national language of India



Govind Ballabh Pant was born on August 30, 1887 in Shyahi Devi hills in Almora. His mother's name was Govindi. His father, Manorath Pant, was constantly on the road. Govind was brought up by his grandfather, Bandri Dutt Joshi, who played a significant part in molding his political views[/color]
