Panchchuli Peaks

Panchchuli - literally meaning five stoves - is believed to be the place where the Pandavas cooked their last meal on the way to heaven. Standing at an altitude of 6,904 meters, it forms a barrier between Darma and Gauri Valleys. After several failed expeditions, a team of Indo-Tibetan Border Police took the west Gauri Valley route and climbed up these peaks in 1974.

Panwali Dwar Peak


Panwali Dwar is a pin shaped snowy mountain located in the Nanda Devi range of Uttaranchal. Panwali Dwar is placed in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas in the Garhwal region.
Jolly Grant airport is the closest airport. The nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.

Pilapani is a massive peak which lies in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas. The peak is perched at an altitude of 6796 m in the region of Garhwal

Rajrambha Peak

Rajrambha Peak is in Pithoragarh District of Uttaranchal. This snow-clad peak, perched at a height of 6,500 m is in the northern part of the district. This towering peak is one of the base camps for mountaineering in the region. The other peaks in the region include Nanda Devi (east), Nanda Devi (west), Trishul, Nandakhat and Panchchuli group of peaks. The hilltop at Munsiyari gives a good view of the Rajrambha Peak.

Rama Dunagiri is a massive peak situated between Dunagiri I and II, west of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary, Uttaranchal. Perched at an altitude of 5,860 m in the Kumaon region

Rudugaira is a beautiful peak situated in Uttarkashi District, Uttaranchal. It is perched at an altitude of around 19,000 ft above sea level and is noted for its scenic beauty. The peak is an exciting destination for trekkers and mountaineers, as well as nature lovers.
Dehradun Railway Station and Jolly Grant Airport are the nearest railway station and airport respectively

Shivling Peak

 
Shivling Peak is a towering and majestic peak located at an altitude of 6,543 m in Uttaranchal. This mountain, a part of the Himalayan mountain ranges lies in the Garhwal region. The peak was first climbed by ITB Police in 1974. Shivling Peak can be accessed through Chaturangi Vamak route. The nearest airport is at Jollygrant and the nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.

Siwalik Range

 
Siwalik Range is the youngest of the Himalayan ranges, which faces the plains towards the south and lies in a northwest-southeast direction. It passes through the northern parts of Saharanpur, southern portion of Dehradun and Garhwal, and the middle portion of Nainital District. The width of these hills varies from 6 to 30 km. Its altitude above the mean sea level generally varies between 300 m and 1200 m. There are major rock formations in these hills and the ridges are covered with dense forest. There are deep gorges through which rivers flow. The flat longitudinal valleys or ‘Duns’ situated beyond this range separate it from the lesser Himalayas.

Suitilla Peak


Suitilla Peak is an unconquered peak in the Kumaon region of Himalayas in Uttaranchal. This sharp peak is on the north-east side of Yankchar Glacier. Situated at a height of 6,401 m, the peak is well-corniced with knife-edged ridge on all the sides and towers a little north of Panchchuli Peaks. Ralam Village gives a good view of the peak. Other nearby peaks include Rajrambha, Chaudhara and Chirangwe. Best time to climb the peak is during April, May, August, September and October.

Swachand Peak

 
Swachand Peak is a tantalizing peak situated at an altitude of 6,721 m above the mean sea level. This mountain lies in the side valley of the Gangotri Glacier in the Garhwal Himalayas.
Swachand Peak was first climbed through the snowy south-eastern side, by T Messner and L Spannraft in 1938. The snow covered environment makes this an ideal destination for adventure enthusiasts
