Kharsali
A Home to the Pandas (pilgrim priests) of Yamunotri

Kharsali, a beautiful village is situated near Janki Chatti, a place famous for its thermal springs. Surrounded by conifers and oak trees, Kharsali is an attractive meadow. This haven of the pandas (pilgrim priests) houses two temples, one is the temple of Lord Someshwar and the other is the temple of Shani Dev. The temple of Lord Someshwar is a three-storeyed temple made of carved stones. A unique feature of the temple of Shani Dev is its earthquake-proof architecture. It reminds one of the tower monasteries of Tibet.
There are two large pots known as Rikhola and Pikhola in the temple. They are held back by chains

Jankichatti

 
Jankichatti is a small settlement in Uttarkashi District of Uttaranchal. Situated at an altitude of around 8,770 ft above sea level, the village is noted for its thermal springs. Jankichatti is just 5 km from Yamunotri and can be easily accessible from there. The trekking route connecting Hanumanchatti-Yamunotri passes nearby.
With its beautiful mountains and adventurous trekking routes, the village is an ideal place for tourists in search of fun and adventure. Lakshmi Narayan Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, is a major religious site in Jankichatti. Yamuna River flows through this village. Jadhang

 


Jadhang is a rural hamlet in Uttarkashi District of Uttaranchal. It lies at an altitude of 11,150 ft above sea level and is noted for its scenic beauty. The state highway connecting Nelang and Angar passes nearby.

Ghastoli, a picturesque village, is situated 18 km from Arwa Tal in Uttarkashi District. It lies at an elevation of 3,796 m in the Kedarnath Temple-Gangotri-Badrinath (17 km) trek route. It offers magnificent views of the snow-clad peaks all around. Nearby destinations are Mana and Arwa Nala. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Jolly Grant Airport is the closest airport. The nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.

Gainchvan
Gainchvan is a beautiful hamlet in Uttarkashi District of Uttaranchal. It is situated near the trekking route connecting Naitwar and Osla. The nearest major cities are Purola and Rajgarhi. The Rupin River flows close to this village.
Doni, Salra, Nanai, Jakhol and Taluka are the nearest cities and villages. The nearby place Naitwar is famous for a temple dedicated to Karna.
