पौड़ी जनपद मुख्यालय से ४५ किलोमीटर की दूर तथा सतपुली से अदवानी, बगानीखाल होते हुए लगभग ४२ की दूरी पर प्राकर्तिक सौन्द्रमयी स्थल पर प्रसिद्ध श्री डांडा नागराजा मंदिर स्थित है! गढ़वाल मंडल में भगवान् शंकर जिस देव शक्ति की सबसे जयदे मान्यता है वह है भगवान् विष्णु के दशावतार के अंतर्गत आठवे अवतार श्री कृष्ण के रूप में बहुमान्य नागराजा की!

पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण को यह क्षेत्र अत्यंत पवन एवंम रमणीय लगा! जिसकी उन्होंने ने नाग रूप धारण कर लेट कर परिकर्मा की! महाभारत में नागो और सर्पो को महर्षी कश्यप और दक्ष प्रजापति पूरी कद्रू को संतान बताया गया था! मध्य हिमालय में लौकिक देवता के रूप में नागराज पुराकाल से परिचित है!

नागो को विष्णु और शिव से भी जोड़ा जाता है! भगवान् विष्णु शीरसागर में शेषनाग की शैय्या पर विश्राम करते है तो उन्हें गले में धारण करते है! सेम मुखेम (टिहरी) स्थित नागराजा और पौड़ी जनपद स्थित जनपद स्थित डांडा नागराजा मंदिर यह दोनों नागराजा के प्रसिद्ध मंदिर है! पट्टी कड़वाल्सियु व् बणेल्स्यु के स्निध स्थल पर ग्राम रोई की भूमि पर लगभग गंगा नदी के ठीक ऊपर स्थित है गढ़वाल में :"कृषि के रक्षक" नाग राजा देव के रूप में डांडा नाग राजा की ख्याति दूर २- तक है!

 मेला

 प्रयेत्क वर्ष अप्रैल माह में बैशाखी में अगले दिन १३-१५ तारीख को डांडा नागराजा में एक विशाल मेला लगता है! जिसमे दूर-२ से श्रद्धालु इस मंदिर तक पहुचते है!  इस दौरान काफी संख्या में नाग राजा को ध्वज व् घंटीयां अर्पित की जाती है! मेले के उपरांत प्रत्येक वर्ष पुजारी भी बदलते है!

Danda Nagraja is one of the most famous temples in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttrakhand. The temple is situated in the Patty Banelsyun.
Every year thousands of pilgrims from across the country visit this holy shrine, especially people from villages who have a lot of belief in the healing powers of this deity.
The famous Kauthig festival is celebrated on a very grand scale every year in April. The shrine is now well connected from Pauri  City and other districts of the State by regular bus services. The best seasons to visit this Krishna temple is from November to March.
“Legend has it that when Lord Krishna came here for the first time, he came in the form of a snake and crawled all the way up the ridge to reach the spot where the temple now stands. Hence this temple is called Danda Nagraj Temple.” a regular pilgrim to this shrine, Kanta Prasad, said.
Localites have a strong belief that Lord Krishna still stays here and has done so over many centuries. They say they have special blessings of Danda Nagraja. Popular faith is that Danda Nagraja has the power to foresee any ill coming to the area and always informs them about any mishap that is about to occur. Not just that, locals say the Lord also gives them the solution to the problem.
The temple’s high priest tells you with conviction that if any devotee prays sincerely, Danda Nagraja always fulfills his wishes.
