NOw a days in village only they r speaking in hindi the fanily which
reside outside uttranchal wen go there how will they learn the culture

Dear Friends,
 
I am with u all we should speak our own  language and unless parent's speak kids can not learn.  So i request please speak our own language. Iam born and brought in Mumbai and working in UAE but still we all brother and sister we can speak our language.  My Mom and Dad they always speak in Garhwali so we also and dad always use to say " If we can speak other languages like Marathi , English etc" so why no our own language. 
So today i speak in garhwali and Iam proud to be Garhwali.

Dear Shri Mehta,
I have gone through the views by the members. Fortunately for us in the Armed Forces, the highlanders, both Kumaonis and Garhwalis are held in very high esteem being brave soldiers and we don't attempt hiding our identity. Toppers at the NDA/IMA and a very high percentage of gallentry award winners are from our Hills. So we host Pahari get-togethers wherever and whenever possible. We speak the language which everyone is comfortable with. Any Bisht, Negi, Pant.. visiting my home is always a home coming. And we converse in our language to be at home.

I fully support to speak my own regional language whether it is Kumaoni or Garhwali.  Being a Kumaoni, I always prefer to speak in Kumaoni with my Kumaoni friends, relatives at my home too.  I am having a 3 and half years old daughter, I also try to teach her Kumaoni, me and my wife most of the time talk with each in kumaoni because my daughter can also grab and learn kumaoni.  You won't believe, if I am outside from my home whether I am in Delhi or any other state and I found someone Kumaoni, fell proud and start speaking in Kumaoni.
 
Our own language (Kumaoni and Garhwali) is our own.  So, we have to motivate/teach our new generation to our own language.
 
I would like to say thanks to Mr. Shankar Datt Pande, Dr. B.S. Kholia, Mr. M.S. Mehta for raising their comments/views on our local language.

हम शरमाने वाले जो क्या हुए..लेकिन के कर छा अजानभोल के नानतिन हुए..जानने वाले ही नहीं हुए...तो कैसे बलायें आपुणी भाषा में...

भल करा आपने जो ये विषय उठाया..अब मेरे को भी अपनी पहाड़ी हिन्दी भाषा बलाण में शरम नहीं आयेगी हो...

i just want to know that
like  ..Garwali -English -Hindi Encyclopedia ..going to be released - soon in Doon ,, Ref Local Hindi News Paper 11or 12 may .
Is there any  Kumauni _Hindi  _English  -Encyclopedia _under  formation or already done ..
Both the laguages are very rich  ..and sweet . but i feel bad that nothing is being done  to save this laguage or  pass it to  next Gens  in the form of encyclpedia ,so that  Generations of Kumauni speaking ..shuld   be aware of there  very own  literary and rick  culture. thier language.
Is there anyone in AlMORA ,coz Almora is the Cultural capital of Kumaun ,.working on it..
If not  then thats really pitty and matter of great concern ...or if its there then it should be
distributed  or maketed  through respctive Kumauni Samaj branches all over India..
