maine unko waise live suna tha aaj se 2-3 saal pahle Delhi haat main....sach main dats d real folk....n she is equally gus at Harmonium too..
we must promote such hardcore folk singers ,,,, nay step in dis direction wud b highly supported (tan-man-dhan se)..

Kabootari Devi was one of the most accomplished singer of her era.  I have a few recordings of her songs from Akashvani archives.  If Anubhav Upadhyay ji helps me, I will be able to upload those songs.  I have also contacted Najibabad and Lucknow Stations of AIR to get more information about as well as find out more archival recordings of this great singer. Akashvani Almora has no recordings.

One more thing.  Listeners of this era may find her singing a bit awkward.  But while listening to her songs, please bear in mind that in those days the recording facilities were primitive.  Moreover, that era was greatly influenced by nasal-tone singing.  If you listen to the singing doyens of that era like Pandit Pulaskar, Onkar Nath Thakur, Mallikarjun Mansur, KL Sehgal, Noor Jehan, et al, you will find that they used to rely more on nasal tones, particularly on the higher notes (taar saptak).  Nevertheless, she was a great singer.
