Ek Dabal is second Garhwali poetry collection by Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' (2012). There are 44 general poems, 63 four lines and 110 two lines poems (Chhitga) (total 173) in this marvelous volume.
Shanti Prakash Jigyasu made the changing human relations, changing culture, changing mode of deliveries and contemporary happenings in Garhwal. Shanti Prakash also dealt with wrong happenings as false development in Garhwal, migration, barren villages and tragedies due to wrong planning and adhoc execution by administrative machineries.
His main stress in this volume is changing relationship between son and mother, father and sons, society and its members and nation verses humanity.
Shanti Prakash Jigyasu uses new and old symbols for illustrating his views on human relationship as in Chira, Dhoti Tukda, Thangra, Vadu etc.
Vadu means division sign of a farm. He takes Vadu as symbol in division among humanity. He takes Thangru as old people for support to new generation and also shows generation gap through Thangaru.

By conventional symbols, Jigyasu is able for creating images.

Words as Thangru, Naanga Khutta , pet , Mundaru , Dhunggu etc are succsful in creating desired images.
His satirical poems especially Chhitga are very sharp, provoking and compel readers for thinking.

मां जब बिमार ह्वे
वैन रिश्तों से हात झाड़ दे
Shanti Prakash does experiment with poetry style and in offering symbols for newer images. Shanti Prakash brought back the forgotten Garhwali words in this poetry collection and is an appreciable act.

Shanti Prakash was born on 22nd February 1966 in Kothar village of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. A Post Graduate in Geography, Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' has been connected with Dhad a language development movement for many years. Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' has been relaying his poems through All India radio and Doordarshan.
Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' edited a poetry collection 'Uttarakhand ki Lokbhashaon ki Chinta'.
Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' published two Garhwali poetry collections – As (2010) and Ek Dabal (2012).
Critics appreciated both the poetry collections for subjects, styles, symbols and images.
Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' is called expert of creating small poems (Chhitga). Chhitga by Shanti Prakash 'Jigyasu' are very sharp in criticizing the wrongs. His poems are more of emotional nature.

Traill writes, "When a Hissedar (land owner) is unable for cultivating the owner offers land to a cultivator for cultivating land on temporary basis and the cultivator is called 'Sirtan'. The Sirtan or cultivator offers 1/3 of land produces to the owner (tyad, tiar, tihar). If there is shortage of cultivators, the owner takes only money as government levy. Owner has right for dismissing Sirtan for cultivating rights. If in village, there is no Sirtan available the owner calls other cultivators from nearby villages. Such cultivators were called Paykast. Paykasti was nothing but a temporary way of keeping land fertile. Paykast system was too temporary and Sirtan has long time agreement between owner and cultivators. "
In Traill time (1815-35, the cultivators were not easily available. There was a competition among owners for getting Sirtan or Paykast. Owners used to offer land even without tax or Tihar. The Sirtan or Paykast system was live till 1960 in Bhabhar or many parts of Garhwal.
Apart from Hissedar and Khaykar, other cultivators were put under Sirtan and there was confusion due to that system (Dabral).
Initially in British Raj, owners had power for dismissing Sirtan. However, from 1925, the rule was made or judgment was offered that in case a Sirtan was cultivating land and living in village for long he could not be dismissed. Suchh permanent Sirtan were called 'Maurusi Sirtan'.
In each village, Harijans were established by upper caste. Their job was helping owners or masters in various ways, ploughing, helping in marriage, carrying masters and pulling dead animals for disposals. Those were given position of Sirtan in later British rule. Gairola suggested them calling 'Muafi Khidmati'.
By 1925, the ownership of Sirtan and Khaykar was confirmed on land. Khaykar could offer land to other cultivators for temporary cultivation.

The poems in poetry collection 'Ganga Ji ka Jau Chhan Bhaiji' by Dinesh Dhyani are nothing but sever pain of a migrated Garhwali that knows that he will never return back his motherland. The poetry collection is crying alone by a migrated Garhwali poet.
Dinesh Dhyani is multitalented Garhwali language creative settled in Delhi.
There are 63 poems in the present first poetry collection by Dinesh Dhyani. No doubt there are different subjects as spirituality, philosophy, rituals, relationship breaking pain, emotions, contemporary society, and social changes; false development, poverty; looting by politicians, administrative class and middle men in this poetry collection. However, most of poems ultimately show the pain of a migrated Garhwali for a situation that is not in his control that he will never be able for resettling in Garhwal.
Dinesh shows that the life in Garhwal is simple and stresses less but we only spoiled the life (Gaun ka hal).

Migrated Dinesh Dhyani repeatedly remembers his village in many poems and shows his concern for wrong happenings in Garhwal as in 'jandari' poem.

The poems are of modern style, less of rhyme in nature. Famous poet Prem Lal Bhatt remarks that the poems of Dinesh Dhyani are nearer to intellectualism. This author calls such poets as poets of Bahgunavadi.
Dinesh Dhyani used tens of symbols (new and old) for creating desired images as खुंच्या, हिटै, कुटै, चुंगा, भयों क बांटा , चौनकोट्या बांद and many more .
Dinesh uses as per need the proverbs and saying marvelously. Dinesh uses standard Garhwali but there are dialects of Nainidanda .
The poems are enjoyable and readers definitely will wait his next poetry collection.

Dinesh Dhyani is multitalented Garhwali literature creative and social activist. Dinesh Dhyani was born on 8th August 1966 in Parkhandai village, Nainidanda block of Pauri Garhwal.
Dinesh Dhyani has been publishing stories, poems and articles in Garhwali from 1988. Dinesh Dhyani published a Garhwali short story collection and poetry collection Ganga Ji Ka Jau chhan Bhaiji.
Dinesh deals with varied subjects and tones. Prem Lal Bhatt put his poetries under intellectual Garhwali poems - Bahgunavadi poet.
Dinesh Dhyani shows anguish in worsening situation in Garhwal. As a migrated Garhwali, his pain is always for not returning to his motherland. His verses are melodious but are mostly free verse. Critics appreciated his uses of figures of speech, symbols, images.
Another pottery collection by Dinesh Dhyani is under publication. His Garhwali is standard Garhwali with little bit Nainidanda region.
A post graduate in Hindi also published Hindi poetry collection and a novelette.

क्य कुमौ क्य गढ़वाळ
जैकु बोलि कि ,टेक लगांदी
वैन पैलि मारि दे फाळ ,
खाणि की पटाळ छै ज्वा
धूरी मा पुजेन्दी छै ज्वा ,
पहाडै आस छै ज्वा ,
दानि आंख्यूं कि .. . भ्वाळ छै ज्वा।
डाँड्यूं बटी रौड़ि दौड़ि
बणिगै गाडै गंगलोड़ि
पौंछिकी देवाळु मा ,

'Mayali Bhaun' is first Garhwali lyric collection by multitalented creative Yatendra Gaur . There are 51 Lyric poems in 'Mayali Bhaun'. Before publishing Garhwali lyric collection, Yatendra Gaur already released a audio cassette '
The present lyric collection has varieties of lyrics as spiritual poems as Sarswati Vandan, Mahabgarh prayer; praise for Garhwal (Garhbhumi, Hamaru Garhwal, Meru Himwant, Malni ); love and pain ( Khairi ye man ki, Smalaun ); geographical and seasonal images (Malnai, Dandyun Baugadi Thandi hava, Barkyalu Chaumas); patriotic or chivalry poems (Ajadi garh Sipai, ); women issues ( Padu ki bala Shakuntala); satire and other burning issues in Garhwal and India.
There mostly all raptures as love, pathos, chivalry, surprise, humor, spirituality, children love etc.
Yatendra uses conventional symbols and figures of speeches but don't avoid using new symbols for creating images. Yatendra Gaur uses mixed Garhwali having English, Urdu and Hindi words in his verses. His dialects are of Ajmer- Dhangu (Ganga Salan) dialects but easily understandable by all.
There are various types of Chand in the lyrics and are melodious.
The critics as Dr N.K. Dhoundiyal and Dr. Jagdamba Kotnala, great singer Narendra Singh Negi, Gazal maker Jagmohan Bisht and readers appreciated lyrics and efforts by Yatendra Gaur.

Yatendra Gaur is famous lyricist of Garhwali language.
Yatendra Gaur was born on 27th April 1967 in Biachhal Simal, Kandakhal region, Ajmir of Pauri Garhwal.
Yatendra Gaur is post graduate in English and Economics subjects. Yatendra has taken formal training (diplomas) in music and singing (Sangeet Prabhakar, Gayan, Tabla playing) . By profession, Yatendra is educationist.
Yatendra Gaur released his Garhwali album 'Barkhyalun Chaumas' that offered him tremendous fame and name in Garhwali music world.
Yatendra creates melodious Garhwali lyrics and has been relaying lyrics through All India Radio and Doordarshan too. Yatendra Gaur has been publishing his melodious poems in various periodicals.
Yatendra Gaur published his 51 lyrics collection ' Mayali Bhaun' in 2012.
Learned scholars, as Dr. N.K Dhoundiyal, Dr Kotnala, Madan Duklan, great Indian folk singer Narendra Singh Negi , Gazal maker Jagmohan Bisht appreciated lyrics by Yatendra Gaur.
Yatendra Gaur created lyrics on various subjects and he created lyrics in various Chhand (tones, rhyme styles).
Yatendra Gaur uses conventional phrases, figures of speech and symbols for creating images.
Yatendra Gaur uses standard Garhwali with Ajmir –Dhangu (Ganga Salan, South Garhwal) dialects for his lyrics.

काळी रात अंद्यरु बाटु , द्यू बत्ती लेकि हाथ
सारू दगड्या क्वी नि होलू , तू जग्वाळ कैरि ना
कबि त आली ऋतु बसंत। मन कि आस छोड़ि ना।

अपणा बारा अपणु बाना बकि कबि नि जाण
अब त आस त्वैमा लग्युं , हम खुणि मुख मोडि ना
कबि त आली ऋतु बसंत। मन कि आस छोड़ि ना।

मौळयार बयार आलि , फूल खिलला रंगी रंगीला
छैल छबीली दुन्या होली , तू यनु मा बिरड़ि ना

सि ब्याळि परसि मि गौं जयुं थौ। ये म्यार भुभर्यड़ तथैं कथा नया नया आण , पखाणा अर मुहावरा ऐ गेन भै ! मैं तो खौंळे ग्यों , भौंचक्का रै ग्यों अर खौंळेणु छौं बल हमर गढ़वाळम रौण वळ साहित्यकार यूँ निवाड़ी मुवावरों तैं समिण किलै नि लांदन। हाँ पर गावक जोगी जोगड़ा अर पल्लि पार वळु कुण सिद्ध !
मि अपण बोडि दगड़ बैठ्युं थौ बल तैबरि बेड़ बटिं भुभना काकी आई अर बुलण मिस्याई ," ये दीदी तीन बि ब्रेकिंग न्यूज सूण ?"
"क्वा वळि ब्रेकिंग न्यूज ?" बोडिन पूछ।
भुभना काकिन न्यूज ब्रेक कार , " परसि स्योड़ (सोहन जैक नाम भुभना काकि नि ले सकदी छे ) ज्योरूक बेटी प्वार गांवक मड्वे (मोहन ) जिठा जीक नौनाक दगड़ भाजी गे छै स्या ब्याळि रात बौड़िक ड्यार ऐ गे। "
" त्वी बि ना ! टीवी चैनलों तरां बासी न्यूज सणि ब्रेकिंग न्यूज बुलणि रौंदी। " बोडिन भुभना काकिs मुक मारि दे।
"कनो क्या भंगुल जामि ?" भुभना काकिन पुछि।
' असल ब्रेकिंग न्यूज या च बल सुबेर सुबेर स्योड़ ज्योरूक बेटी बिंदु क्या छमना बख्तवारौ लौड़s दगड़ भाजी गे। " बोडिन न्यूज ब्रेक कार।
घाम अछळे गे छौ कि मीन द्याख कि मथि तरफां रस्ता से सोहन बडाs बड़ लौड़ अर तीन हौर जवान लाठ लेकि गांव से भैर जाणा छन।
मीन बोडी पूछ , " यी रत्यां लाठ लेकि कथैं जाणा होला ? "
बोडिक जबाब थौ , " सि सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक पर जाणा छन। "
"सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक " मीन पूछ।
"हाँ ! सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक ! स्योड़ ज्योरू लौड़ अर बकै प्वार गाँव जाणा छन अर नन्दा तै जबरदस्ती उठैक लाणो जाणा छन। " बोडिन जबाब दे।
कुछ देर परांत हमन सोलर पोल तौळ द्याख कि कृतराम काका , कृपाल सिंग चचा अर भग्गु भतीजो हमर ड्यार जिना आणा छन
बोडिन सलाह दे , " यूँक समिण प्रधान , पटवारी अर प्रिंसिपलौ काट नि कौरी हाँ। यी सब पेड मीडिया छन। "
"पेड मीडिया ?" मीन पूछ।
"अबि चुप रौ। पैथर बथौलु। " बोडिन आगाह कार।
एकाद घँटा तक तिनि छ्वीं लगाणै रैन। कृतराम काका प्रधान तै दुन्या को ईमानदार मनिख सिद्ध करणु रै , कृपाल सिंग चचा पटवारी तै ग्विल दिब्ता से बि बड़ो न्यायप्रिय बथाणु थौ त भग्गु भतीजो प्रिंसिपल तै गुरु द्रोणाचार्यौ अवतार घोषित करणु थौ।
जब सब चल गेन त बोडिन बथै , " सब पेड मीडिया छन। प्रधान कृतराम तैं फोकट मा मनरेगा की पगार दिलांदु , कृपाल सिंग आळी -जाळी करणों बान पटवारीs कमिसन एजेंट च तो भग्गु की ब्वारी स्कूलम भोजन माता च , सारा परिवार स्कूलौं रासन पर जि पळणु च। सब अब पेड मीडिया ह्वे गेन। जु यूँ तै फोकट मा सरकारी माल खलांदन यी वेकि प्रशंसा , बडै करणा रौंदन बस। लुच्चा ! लुचड़ बि नी आणु ये पेड मीडिया पर ! " बोडिन समझाई।
