The Limca Book has declared his record of driving 2500 kms in 6 days as a National Record for 2009. This is his second such record.
He used to teach car driving in the city and thought of driving his car in reverse gear, after which he put in some heavy practice. In March 2006, he drove the car in reverse gear from Kaladhungi to Nainital and back for 70 kms, for which he got his name registered in the Limca Book of Records. After this, in October 2006, he drove from Kashipur to Kasauni for 410 kms, but was not registered due to unknown reasons.
On 28 October, 2007 at 6 p.m., Mobeen Khan began a tour of Uttrakhand. In six and a half days, he covered 2500 kms. Limca Book declared him the National Record holder for 2009. Mobeen Khan was extremely happy when he received the recognition certificate on Monday and said that this was a reward for his hard work and spirit.
He said that he wished to drive from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari in reverse gear, but needed government or some organisational aid. He wished to get his name registered in the Guinness Book and has applied for it, but the Guinness book team would cost him too much, which couldn’t be achieved without government aid.
