Interview with Parashar Gaur, Pioneer of Garhwali Cinema

Parashar Gaur is the director of the first Garhwali language feature film, JAGWAL ("The Long Wait") that premiered in 1983. He now resides in Toronto, Canada.

The 2004 interview was featured on Badhai Ho, a Hindi news-magazine programme on OMNI Television that celebrates the successes of local community members in business, entertainment and the arts.

Pant Ji,

It was foundation given by Gaur Ji but after that we have not seen any remarkable progress in Uttarakhandi Cinema.. Several films now-a-days come in the market from Uttarakhand, hardly any of them able to make impression amongst the viewers.

Megha Aa - First Kumaoni Film

Megha Aa is one of the most superhit Uttarakhandi movies ever released. The movie was released in 1987 and was a great success. Producer SS Bisht and Director

This was the first Kumoani moive but thereafter, no big movie came in market.

Though there several movies are coming market but issue is that no better quaility movie is seen. There is no dearth of subject of movies to be made but there need of a good director who can Portray the reail situation of Hills.

There is need a movie to be made on migration, condition of women, tourism etc.
