हनुमान पट्टी का तो पता नहीं, एक हनुमानगढ़ी है नैनीताल में जो सैलानी, पर्यटकों और धार्मिक यात्रियों के लिए विशेष, आकर्षण का केन्द्र है। यहाँ से पहाड़ की कई चोटियों के और मैदानी क्षेत्रों के सुन्हर दृश्य दिखाई देते हैं। हनुमानगढ़ी के पास ही एक बड़ी वेद्यशाला है। इस वेद्यशाला में नक्षत्रों का अध्ययन किया जाता है।

Hanuman Chatti

Hanuman Chatti (7200 feet) is a small hamlet a few miles from Gaurikund, the name "chatti" indicates that it was at one time a night stop on the pilgrim road.  Sanyasis from the Juna Akhara live there now during the pilgrim season, where they care for several small temples (the main one to Hanuman, shown here), where the passing pilgrims provide a steady stream of potential patrons (no one is here now because I took this photo in November).  The flat platform to the left of the temple is the samadhi shrine of Himalaya Giri, a sanyasi who must have lived in that spot for many seasons.  So at this site are two nodes of holiness for Hindus: a temple to a deity, and a memorial to a renunciant ascetic. 



This is a frontal shot of the main temple, which even with the tower is only 6 feet high.  The corbelling (overlapping courses of stone) to create the arch is clearly visible, here, as are the painted signs  identifying the Juna Akhara (a particular group of sanyasas) and the place as Hanuman Chatti.  Enshrined in the temple is an image of Hanuman carrying the mountain, which is one of his central heroic acts in the Ramayana.  The reddish banners and the garlanded lion are also symbols of the Juna Akhara.

रोवर्स केव, देहरादून में स्थित है, इसका स्थानीय और प्रचलित नाम "गुच्चू पानी" है, यह देहरादून शहर से ७ कि०मी० की दूरी पर है। गुच्चू पानी एक नदी है और यह एक लम्बी सुरंग से होकर गुजरती है, घुटनों-घुटनों तक पानी में लगभग २ कि०मी० की दूरी इसमें तय की जा सकती है, गर्मियों में इसका आनन्द ही कुछ और है।
