                   Great South Asian   Satirical Poet Puran Pant Pathik is versatile personality. Great South Asian Poet Puran Pant is satirical poet, experimental poet, editor of Garhwali weekly Garhwali Dhai, a writer of shortest form of Garhwali stories, a story teller for children. 
      Great South Asian ironic Poet Puran Pant Pathik born in Asarkot, Pokhara, Pauri Garhwal, India in 1952. Great South Asian sardonic Poet Puran Pant is also initiator of Satiric Prose writing in Garhwali language.
Great South Asian Satirical Poet Puran Pant is also one of the poets as Kanhayalal Dandriyal, Netra Singh Aswal, Lalit Keshwan, Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna –those changed the style and body of conventional Garhwali Poetries.           Great South Asian verse maker Puran Pant also created Ghazals. However, Pathik is more famous in Garhwali for his sharp and anger some poems in Garhwali.
           Learned critics as Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna, Madan Duklan, Virendra Panwar, Sandeep Rawat appreciated his way of satirizing the contemporary situations as corruption in politics, administrations, society, education field etc.  Great South Asian Satirical Poet also criticized the people having double standards in relationship, back biters, crooked middlemen etc.
Great South Asian satirical poet Puran Pant uses very sharp words, Garhwali phrases  in criticizing the villain situation and therefore less humor is found in his satirical poems.
Great South Asian Satirical Poet Pant always advocates for ethical means in politics, administration and society. Pant does not hesitate using street chhap words for attacking the villains.  Puran Pant uses witty , ironic, exaggerated phrases for sharp attack.

निपल्टो यखौ ह्वै मन्खी भैर का ऐ गैन यख .

कै को बी हो राज भैजी  उस्तादी उत्तराखंड मां
उल्लू ही बणान्दा रैन सदाने उत्तराखंड मां .

उद्योग लगीं कख लागणा कब लागला पहाड़ मां .
यई राज्यौ हिस्सा छ -पहाड़ - उत्तराखंड मां .

शिक्षा क्यांकि ,कनी साक्षरता ,आंकडों की बात छ.
बीस-पन्दरा सूत्र क्या छन फाइलों की बात छ.

बल,रुपया बाँटना ,कै खुने ,क्यों ,उत्तराखंड राज्य छ
खुर्सी-सत्ता-फुन्द्या -गलादार ,मौज उत्तराखंड मां .

भासणौ को भात ,वायदों -दाल उत्तराखंड मां
अपणी मवासी बणै  ,हैन्कै धार,उत्तराखंड मां .

स्वास्थ्य-सुविधौं काची गप्प ,दायजिन बी मिलदी नी
ग्वर्या दाग्टर,पौ चलै,नर्स ,आया ,दाई नी .

कम्पौदर-स्वीपर बन्या दाग्टर ,साब देरादून जी
राजधानी चखल-पखल,घसड़-पसड़ होंड जी .

सब्बी खुश छन हैन्सना अर मस्त उत्तराखंड मां
मिस्स्याँ रुप्प्या बित्वालन पर सब्बी उत्तराखंड मां.

          जो बि गै वो बौडु  नी छ कनो निपल्टो ह्वैगी भैजी
          उत्ताराखंडौ  पाणि  निरसु ,कनो किलै यो ह्वैगी भैजी .
        पुंगड़ी  /पटळि ली/द्वाखरी बंजी ,कुडी  /तिबारी खंद्वार भैजी .
         पौ की घंट /ढुंगा निरस्याँ रस्वाडा को गालन बी भैजी .
       मोर/ बिंयारा/ संगाड रूणा,  ढ़ैपुरा निरसै गैन भैजी
       बल पहाडौ  पाणि/ज्वानि  ,ब्वग्दा रैग्ये सदनी भैजी .
       धुरपळिम खिरबोज निरभगी रून्दो नि ,न हँसदो भैजी
        ग्वरबटा का ढुंगा /गारा बाटो  ह्यर्दा रंदन भैजी .
       इनो  असगुन किलै हम खुणि  ,लाटा-काला रयां भैजी
       बिंडी खाण कमाण  पितरकूड़ी  बिसरी ग्याँ भैजी .

                  Initial Developing Phase of Modern Garhwali Poetry (1900-1925)
Jay Krishna Daurgadatti Rudola is supposed to be brother of Hari Krishna Daurgadatti Rudola. Jay Krishna Rudola was born in 1855 in Shrinagar Garhwal and  expired in1925.
He was great Sanskrit scholar family of Shrinagar. Jay Krishna used the same style as Contemporary Hindi pets of Bhartendu Era those were following Braj Language style poetry.
A couple of Garhwali poems of Jay Krishna are available and are of preaching subjects, The words are Sanskrit mix  Garhwali.
The following poem was published in Garhwali Kavitavali (1932)  and states that the poem was created around 1884

क्या चींथड़ा सड़क मा कखिमू नि मिल्दा
क्या डाळियोंन हरले अपणी सुछाया
क्या सूखि गेन नदी नाळ सभी जगत्मा
जो दुर्मदांध  धनिकू कि करेंदि सेवा।
क्या कन्दरा बुज गएन बणी बणू मा
क्या शान्ति देवि वख से उठि की चलीगे
संतोष क्या भागि गए , नि रया शर्मादी
जो दुर्मदांध धनिकू कि करेंदि सेवा।
क्या वा विवेक की महिमा उठिगै जगत से
गीता गये उपनिषद नि रही -तितिक्षा
शिक्षा विदा ह्वइ गये बढिगे लपस्या
जो दुर्मदांध धनिकू कि करेंदि सेवा।
क्या पुण्य की उठिगे जग से सुचर्चा
क्या लोभ ही न इनि सुँदर ताण ताणे
क्या मोह का जगत मा जमिगे जमानो
  जो दुर्मदांध धनिकू कि करेंदि सेवा।
क्या काल रूपी कलि को कलमा जगिगे
क्या धर्मशास्त्र सब शास्त्र बणी गये न
जै कृष्ण बोलिक शरण तुम वेकी जावा
जो दुर्मदांध धनिकू कि करेंदि सेवा।

           Famous Asian poetess Neeta Kukreti is appreciated for her creation of perfect images of Garhwal.

             Famous Asian poetess was born in 1952 in Sumadi a famous Garhwal village of Pauri Garhwal. Neeta's in law village is Gweel, Malla Dhangu. Famous Asian poetess took education in Music too. She is also famous folk singer of Garhwali. Famous Asian Poetess retired from Shri Guru Ram Rai College Dehradun.
   There are varied subjects of poems by famous Asian Poetess Neeta as nature illustration, religion, migration; twelve months season (Baramasa); rivers , mountains, snow, motherhood, love and what not .
     Famous Asian Poetess is expert of creating perfect images of cited subjects. Though, she does experiment but in her poem the lyrical style is always exists.

             Shashi Shekhara Nand Saklani: A Poet of Inspirational and Preaching Subjects

           Shashi Shekhara Nand (Shashishekharanand) Saklani is one of the architects of initial development of Modern Garhwali Poetry in first part of twentieth century.
          Shashi Shekhara Nand Saklani (Shashishekharanand) was born in 1855 in Shrinagar, Pauri Garhwal and expired in 1948.  Shashi Shekhara Nand (Shashishekharanand) Saklani took education in Pauri, Bareli and took government job. Shashi Shekhara Nand Saklani (Shashishekharanand) was deputy Commissioner of Kumaon Commissionery and retired in 1917.  It seems he started creating Garhwali Poetry after his retirement.
           Shashi Shekhara Nand Saklani (Shashishekharanand) lost his vision a couple of years after his retirement. His eldest daughter in law Mrs.. Vinduvasani Saklani used to write his dictation of Garhwali poetries. Mrs. Vinduvasani published his poetry collections Pushpanjali in 1949 on his Barkhi Shradh (Ritual one after his death).
          He was very social person and always used to think for social causes. Therefore, the social benefits are main subjects of his poetries. He used conventional Sanskrit poetry style in His Garhwali Poetries.

शास्त्रर्थी पंडित गुणवान वी छ
छ्विंयाळ सुंदर बलवान वी छ
लक्ष्मी दींदारि सब मान को छ
निर्धन मा अर मृतक मा , क्या कुछ फर्क छ और ?
उठपड़ करि दम पुर्द यो , वो निश्चन्त इक ठौर।

ब्वगदा गदनौं
छ्वाया -छंछडौं
अर माटा पर गै।

हमsरि  नजर
झडदा पातौं
अर लमडदा ल्वाडौं पर गै।

पर   हमsरि  नजर
तूणी अर देवदारा
टकटका डाळो पर नि गै
घाम बरखा अर ह्यूं से निझरक
मुंड उठै खड़ा
उच्चा उच्चा डाँडौं नि गै

          Bhavani Datt Thapliyal is first Modern Playwright of Garhwali Language. Bhavani Datt Thapliyal wrote two major Modern Stage Plays in Garhwali Language.
  Bhavani Datt Thapliyal was born in Khaid village, Mawalsyun of Pauri Garhwal in 1867.  The first Modern Garhwali dramatist Bhawani Datt Thapliyal expired on 29th April 1932. His grandson Urmil Thapliyal is famous Dramatist of Hindi and Garhwali.
  Bhawani Datt Thapliyal worked with state service in District Board of British Raj. Bhawani Datt Thapliyal started Hindi poetry in his literature career but later on shifted to Garhwali language literature.   Bhavani Datt Thapliyal published a few Garhwali poems too.
       Bhavani Datt Thapliyal created a few Garhwali poetries too, His Garhwali poems are inspirational ones .

Satya Sharan Raturi: Hero of Advancement of Garhwali Literature

          Satya Sharan Raturi is one of the Garhwali poets who accelerated the advancement of written Garhwali (Himalayan) literature and he is one the pioneers of modern Garhwali ( Himalayan ) language poetry. The poetry of Satya Saran Raturi is full of inspirational value.  Satya Saran Raturi was born in a typical Himalayan village Godi of Tihri (Uttarakhand) in 1869. Satya Saran was expert of Gardening and worked with government of Patiyala and Tihri kingdoms.
          Satya Saran was having profound knowledge of Hindi and Garhwali. Raturi used to publish his Hindi poetry in Sarswati magazine regularly.
   His famous inspiration Garhwali poem ' Utha Garhwali ! Ab samou syuno ko nee cha ' was published  in the first issue of 'Garhwali' magazine ( May, 1905). Garhwali poems of Satya Saran are full of emotions, with figurative sentences and words, rhetoric, and most of poems are inspirational, . He also used common symbols and imagery of his time of Garhwal, Himalaya.  His all poems are published in ' Garhwali Kavitwali' a collection of poetries of many Garhwali poets as Chandra Mogan Raturi, Hari Krishna Rudola , Yogendra Krishna Rudola etc
           Satya Sharan is called true leader of advancing Garhwali literature in the first phase of modern Garhwali. Satya Saran also inspired other co-writers and educated Garhwali for creating Garhwali literature and publishes that literature. It is said that he used to post letters to educated Garhwalis for serving Garhwali language.
Satya Saran Raturi expired on 24th January, 1926 in Patiyala.

कुर खेत ही मचैद्या रण शूरसिंह छैं तुम।

रणखेत हेतु प्यारो खुश बीर छयैं तुम।
