          Jagdish Prasad Chaturvedi is a retired government official. However, being a social issue sensitive person, he started writing poems after his retirement.
In this volume, there are twenty Garhwali poems concerned to Garhwal. His poems are of varied subjects as praise for Garhwal; problems of migration from Garhwal, the painful states of women in Garhwal. Chaturvedi also describes geographical and social images of Garhwal and beauty. 
         The poems are of modern style that is without conventional 'Chhand' or free verses.
  Famous Indian Singer Narendra Singh Negi and Madan Duklan appreciated his poems. 
  Chaturvedi is successful in raising the burning issues of rural Garhwal.

सभी अहसास /पुराणो इतिहास
अपणौ तैं मिलणा की /धुंधली आस

          Jagdish Prasad Chaturvedi created more than 100 poems in Garhwali.  The poems of Chaturvedi show the past; present and also take readers showing the future of Garhwal. Jagdish illustrate Garhwal geographical nature, social wrongs and cultural beauty of Garhwal, spirituality. His poems inspire readers for avoiding wrong doings too. Jagdish is a poet of varied subject.
Jagdish was born in 1940 , in Piplai of Kafolsyun , Pauri Garhwal.
  Chaturvedi published a Garhwali poetry collection.

Guna Nand Thapliyal A Garhwali Poet

            Gunanand Thapliyal is famous for his contribution in Hindi than writing in Garhwali. His few Garhwali poems are appreciated by critics.
        Gunanand Thapliyal was born in Thapli-Ad badri of Chamoli Garhwal in 1942.
He was editor of many Hindi magazines as 'Doot' of UNESCO
          In Hindi, he has written stories, poems and plays.
          In Garhwali language, Gunanand Thapliya created a couple of poems . Those poems are related to philosophy and rituals. No doubt,  from the poetical point of view, the poetries of Gunanand are appreciable but Gunanand was much influenced by Hindi and Sanskrit that Gunanand used Hindi words frequently in is Garhwali poems ,

गजब च गजब च प्रभु तेरी माया
कखि शीत -गर्मी कखि धूप छाया।
त्यरी छाया माया से य दुनिया बणी च
त्यरी ही दया से य पृथ्वी खड़ी च।
त्यरि अश्रुमाला से  सागर भर्युं च
त्यरी किरण से  हिमालै बण्यु च।
त्यरा ही चरण धवेकि बगदि सदानी 
यु गंगा , यु यमुना , यु सरयू को पाणी।
कखि ऊंचा डांडा कखी  सौड़ सैणा
कखी चाँद सूरज कखी सर्ग गैणा।
कखी धरती झुलसीं तपीं जन तवा च
कखी बद्रीनाथै ठंडी हवा च।

सि बग्वाळ  मनोन्दन
बिंडी दों ,
कबि महँगे कु बम फोड़ी ,
आम मनखि कि
कमर तोड़ी ,
सि कबि पोट्गों कि
आग तैँ सुलगोंदन ,
कबि जिकुडा तैं
पेट्रोल से जंगोदन ;
सि बीच बीच मा
ज्यू तैँ पिथोन वलि
छ्वीं बातों कि
फुलझड़ि भी छोड़दन ,

डॉ उमाशंकर थपलियाल एक परिचय
डॉ उमाशंकर थपलियाल का जन्म 24 अगस्त 1942 को कर्णप्रयाग(चमोली) में हुआ।लेखन में रूचि होने के कारण 1962 में पत्रकारिता में प्रवेश लिया। डॉ थपलियाल ने "गढ़वाल में हिंदी पत्रकारिता का उद्भव और विकास तथा उसका हिंदी साहित्य में योगदान " पर एच एन बहुगुणा विश्वविद्याल से शोध कार्य किया। विलक्षण प्रतिभा के धनी श्री उमाशंकर ने अनेक राष्ट्रीय एवं क्षेत्रीय पत्र-पत्रिका में लेखन किया। उन्होंने हिंदुस्तान समाचार, यूनीवार्ता, आकाशवाणी एवं बी. बी. सी. के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में काम किया और पत्नी श्रीमती सुशीला थपलियाल ने पारिवारिक और बच्चों की जिम्मेदारियां अपने ऊपर लेते हुए उन्हें स्वछंद पत्रकारिता की स्वतंत्रता दी । 1974 से 2002 तक श्री बद्रीनाथ- केदारनाथ मंदिर समिति में विभिन्न पदों के कार्य संपादन उपरांत प्रचार अधिकारी के पद से सेवानिवृत हुए। श्री उमाशंकर ने रीजनल रिपोर्टर के प्रबंध संपादक (अवैतनिक) के रूप में भी कार्य किया। उन्हें
1992 में "रामप्रसाद बहुगुणा स्मृति सम्मान", गोपेश्वर, चमोली।
1996 में "महाकवि कालिदास सम्मान" ,महाकवि कालिदास जन्म भू- परिषद कविल्ठा कालीमठ

2008 में"हिंदी गौरव सम्मान", राष्ट्रीय हिंदी परिषद मेरठ

2009 समन्वय श्री , अखिल भारतीय भाषा साहित्य सम्मेलन भोपाल
2011 संस्कृति सम्मान, अलाप सांगीतिक एवं सांस्कृतिक कला संगम उत्तराखंड
द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया
2015 स्वर्गवास

        Dr Uma Shankar Thapliyal was born in Chamoli Garhwal in 1942. Dr Thapliyal was a famous journalist and scholars of journalism in Garhwal. Dr. Umashankar Thapliyal 'Samdarshi' was D.Lit. in literature. Dr. Umashankar Thapliyal 'Samdarshi' expired in 2015 in Shrinagar Garhwal.
Dr. Umashankar Thapliyal 'Samdarshi' published Garhwali poetry collections-
'Bhweenchal'
'Gaun kilai ujadna chhan'
         Critics appreciated his compression of tow eras of Garhwal-old and Modern Garhwal in Garhwali poetries. 
   Dr. Umashankar Thapliyal 'Samdarshi' created poetries of various subjects of Garhwal through love, sadness, sorrows, humor, satire and disaster raptures.

जै गौं मा छौ , एकता कु बोलबाला
तख घौर घौर मा तिड़वाळ  पड़ीं छ
छा जख कबि , एक साथ काम करदारा
आज तख खोळा खोळा
चौंरिया स्याळ घुमणा छन

लगदा छा जख चौंफळा थड्या 
आज तौं चौकौं  मा , बिलैति डिस्को होणु छ
पैले हूंदी रै दिबतौं कि पूज्यै दगड़ा दगडे
अब त हर खोळा रंग बिरंगी पुज्यै होणी छन।

छा जौं गौं मा तीलू रौतेली , गब्बर सिंग जना बीर
अब त तौं गौं मा चौतरफा स्याळ सिंग हुयां छन
जख रौंदा छा सी , एक हैंकाक मददगार
अब तौं गाउँ मा मतलब सिंग हो रह्यां छन।

कंपन्यूं को द्वौष लग्यूं मटितेल पिटरोल
हे सब्सिडि ह्वे गोल
लखडा झ्याडा सलिण्डर मुकदमा कै जाणा
अब ग्यूं को पिस्यूं छोल
राजा लाटो राणि चुप, दिल्ली देरादूण टुप
ये देशा का...

लूण तेल आटो चौंल मैंगाई का दोब
हे मुनाफा का लोभ
फल फरोट साग सब्जि भौ चढ्या असमान
यो दिल्ली वलों खोप
ध्याडि मजुरि बजट नी, तनखा पिनशन बजट नी
ये देशा का...

जंगल भसम फुके देखदरो क्वी नी च
हे सुणदरो क्वी नी च
घूस दे कि नौकरि बदलि न्यौ अन्यौ कि बात
हे सुणदरो क्वी नी च
नौकर्युं वला बीपीएल, गाडि कोठि बीपीएल
ये देशा का...

सुर्ज घुरौणू च आँखा सर्ग रुसायूं चा
हे अकाल आयूं चा
बेरोजगारुं जनान्युं की फतडापट्ट असंद
नेता तराई जायूं चा
पाणि नी ल्या दारू प्या, दवै नी ल्या दारू प्याये

हम कैखुणै,कखिम भी कुछ भी बोलि सकदां

हम कैकि भि कूड़ि फरै बुजिना खे सकदां
हम अपणि बांठि खैकि हैंककि हते सकदां

हम उकाल काटिकि सरपट भाजि भि सकदां

हम कैखुणैं भी कखिम भी बौंळि बिटै सकदां
किलैकि हम आजाद छां किलैकि हम निरदुन्द छां
हम जळड़ा घाम लगाण मा माहिर छां
हम हैंकका नौकि संगरांद बजाणका उस्ताद छां
हम हैंककि कुटीं घाण मा बणदा झट पर्वाण छां
हम भैरा खुणि बिर् वळि अर भितरा खुणि ढिराक छां
किलैकि हम आजाद छां किलैकि हम निरदुन्द छां
