Dress and Clothing in Garhwal in Pal/Shah Era

People of Garhwal did not grow cotton (barring in Bhabhar rarely) and the season was also different than plains. Therefore, the dresses, clothing of Garhwalis was different than other Indian plains. The dresses changed with time too.
The clothing by hemp fiber, wool was more common. Before, Mughal culture bcame popular, people used to have woolen Thimla and Langot very common. Kings and elites used to have more sophisticated dresses always. Gati was made of hemp fiber and Chadaru of wool was to cover upper body. The Gati or Chadru was put on upper body in such a way that both hands and knee are free for working. Pundit while performing rituals used to have Dhoti on both the body parts. After getting the influence of Mughal Empire, the dresses of elite class started copying Mughal dresses as Pagadi, Angrakha, Chudidar Paijama, Paijama Kapudiya topi etc. The Garhwal painting of Pradyuman Shah or Medani Shah show the dresses of elites copy of Mughal style.King Lalit Shah acquire Sikh dressings.
Women used to put on woolen Dhoti or cotton Dhoti or woolen /hemp fiber Chadaru.Women also used to put woolen or cotton Ghaghara. Peticoat or female underwear by women was unheard in Garhwal of Shah period. Women used to put a cloth on their head at the ritual time.
People used to beg sew from Pilgrims.
Dressing pattern in Haridwar and Bijnor was as dressing of Delhi, Saharanpur, and Moradabad. Those regions were influenced by Mughal Empire dresses.

इतिहास विद्यार्थी ::: भीष्म कुकरेती

विभिन्न मानव शाखाएं उत्तराखंड व हरिद्वार आयीं , कब बसीं और कब वे प्रवास चले गए , किस प्रकार उस शाखा का प्रसार हुआ जैसे प्रश्नो का उत्तर कठिन है और इतिहासकारों के पास हरिद्वार संबंधी ठोस ऐतिहासिक रिकॉर्ड भी नही हैं।
उत्तराखंड के पहाड़ों में व हरिद्वार के मंदिरों का निर्माण भारत से आये कई राजाओं , धार्मिक दानदाताओं द्वारा हुआ और यह पाया गया कि दानदाता ने मंदिर में अपने क्षेत्र की कला छोड़ी ना कि हरिद्वार की या उत्तराखंड की क्लानुसार मंदिर धर्मशाला निर्माण हुआ।
हरिद्वार प्राचीनतम नगर होने के कारण इसके इतिहास पर बहुसंस्कृति की छाप होना लाजमी है। हरिद्वार प्राचीन धार्मिक स्थल होने के बाद भी मंदिर व अन्य ऐतिहासिक इमारतें सोलहवीं सदी के बाद ही मिलते हैं।
रक्त मिश्रण

हरिद्वार क्षेत्र में प्रत्येक युग के आक्रांता उथल -पुथल मचाते रहे हैं और धार्मिक लोग भी प्रवेश करते रहे हैं अतः हर गाँव में रक्तमिश्रित जातियां मिलती हैं। हरिद्वार में मानवता की प्रत्येक लहर उत्तराखंडियों की पहाड़ियों को भी प्रभावित करती रहीं हैं चाहे गढ़वाल से प्रवास हो या हरिद्वार से हिमालयी पहाड़ियों में प्रवेश !
भारत विशेषतः उत्तर भारत की अनेक आमोदी -परमोदी जातियां भिक्षा हेतु , धार्मिक अनुष्ठान हेतु , मनोरंजन हेतु। वेस्यावृत्ति हेतु हरिद्वार या आस पास बसती रहीं हैं। तपस्या , आत्मचिंतन , सिद्धि प्राप्त हेतु , देवालयों में अनुष्ठान हेतु भी मानव जाति हरिद्वार आती रही है और कुछ यहीं बसते गए।
नृवंशविज्ञानो ने उत्तराखंड और गंगा के निकटतम मैदानी इलाकों जैसे हरिद्वार , भाभर , बिजनौर व कुछ सहारनपुर के इलाकों के मानव जातियों का वर्गीकरण किया।
डा मजूमदार ने उत्तराखंड के पहाड़ियों की मानव जातियों को तीन भागों में बांटा -
१- आदिम डोम जाति
२- मंगोलियन जाति (केवल पहाड़ियों में )
३- खस नृवंश
डा मजूमदार (Races and Culture of India) के वर्गीकरण की चर्चा हुयी किन्तु उस वर्गीकरण को मैदानी भाग से अलग रखने के कारण स्थूल माना गया।
डा गुहा (Racial Elements in Population) के भारत की जातियों के वर्गीकरण में मैदानी उत्तराखंड (हरिद्वार , बिजनौर , भाभर आदि ) भी समाहित दीखता है -

Garhwal had been fortunate about food materials for human beings. Baring a a couple of feminine, no history record is available that a Garhwali died due to non availability of food. On the contrary, there is an old proverb in Garhwali –
"Khaik sabi Morin, Nikhaik kwee ni mor''
That is 'Everybody dies by taking food and nobody dies because of hunger".
The following agro based items were available in hills of Garhwal and Bhabhar including Haridwar, Bijnor and Saharanpur.
Cereals and pseudo Cereals
- Barely, Rice, Wheat, Buckwheat, Chenopodium etc were main cereals.
Maize, Amaranth came in Garhwal after Portuguese entered into India.
Millets and Minor Millets
Among millets and minor millets, Barnyard millet, Finger millet, Fox tail millet, Proso Millet, Kodo and Sorghum were popular.
Pulses
Pigeon pea, Chickpea, Bhatt or Soybean, Khesari, Lentil, Horse gram (Bhabhar) were main pulses of Garhwal, Bijnor and Haridwar including Saharanpur.
Most of beans came to Garhwal after entry of Portuguese in India.
Oilseeds
Indian mustard, Brown Mustard, Toria, Linseed, Perilla , Sesame,
Sunflower was introduced in India after Portuguese entered into India.
Vegetables
People of Garhwal, Haridwar, Bijnor, Saharanpur ued to grow Okra, jackfruit (in Bhabhar), Elephant foot yam, Wax guard, Phadi Spinach, Cabbage (mostly in plains), Elephant Ear Yam, various gourds, Kakdi /cucumber, Radish (Moola and Muli), Brinjal, Carrot, etc vegetable
Squash, Pumpkin, Potato, Sweet Potato, Tomato, pepper were introduced in Garhwal at British period.
Wild Edible Vegetables
Hanw, Bankh, Kairua, Bunch-Ham, Gweeralpr Kwairyal, Kilmora or Kingoda, Semal, Ganziadi, wild Bathua,Gadpeper, Ginthi, Tarur, Linguda, Khuntda, Jhangar, Timul/Timla, Bedu, Sakina, Halang, Mushrooms, Sonjal, Padya, Jarag, Quathode, Buransh, Rugi, Bicchu Ghas or Kandali were wild edible vegetables of Garhwalis of Garhwal, Haridwar, Bijnor, and Saharanpur.
Rambans (Agave americana) was introduced after Portuguese entry only.
Fruits
Orange, mango, Lemon, Ber, Pomegranate, Peach, Loquat, etc were grown in Garhwal, Haridwar, Bijnor, Saharanpur.
New world fruits as Papaya, Guava, a couple of berries species, apple etc of Europe origin were introduced just before British Raj or in British Raj.

Wild Edible Fruits
Bael, Malu, Bamaur, Chutar, Kingoda or Kilmora, Daya, Hisar, Karaunj, Mitha Pangar, Khadik, Jmair, Tusar, taidu, Giwai, Bedu, Timla, Khainu, Bhekhafal, Titmar,Bhimal, Turchuk, Gophal,Akhrot, Kafal, Kurmali, Kimu, Thankal, Aonla, Chir, Paya, Jamun, Bamhalu, Darim, Ghingaru, Mole, Mehal, Buransh, Sirkuti, Imli, Phelalo, Sepla, Kusum, Kala Hisar, Panik Brahmi, Mat Kakri, Nepala, Ami, Mijhau, Titmelwa were major wild edible fruits of Garhwal Bhabhar, Haridwar, Bijnor and Saharanpur Bhabhar.

भारत के प्राचीनतम निवासियों का संबंध निषाद अथवा नीग्रिटो नृवंश से जोड़ा जाता है। डा मजूमदार का डोम समुदाय भी नीग्रिटो समुदाय का अंग रहा है। निषाद जाति कृषि उत्पादक नही थे अपितु आखेटक थे। आज के अंडमान निकोबार के आदि वासियों को निषाद बंशज कहा जाता है जो पिछले 60 हजार सालों से यहां निवास करते हैं। नीग्रिटो नृवंश का अफ्रिका से भारत आगमन को महान अफ्रिका समुद्री पलायन या प्रवास नाम दिया गया है।
राजकुमार रेवती और अन्य {(2005 ) Polygeny and antiquity ... , BM Evolutionary Biology 5 :26 } के अनुसार 60 प्रतिशत भारतीयों में mt DNA haplogroup M मिलता है जोकि अंडमान के सभी आदि वासी समूहों में भी मिलता है।
महाभारत के अनुशार निषाद नृवंश का आकर नाटा , बेडोल आकृति, कोयले जैसा रंग , लाल नेत्र , काले बालों वाले होते थे।
कॉल मुंड आदि नृवंशी मानव ने निषाद शाखा को अपने में समेट लिया किन्तु बिहार में प्राप्त एक मूर्ति व अजंता की कतिपय भृति चित्रों से पता चलता है कि कई सैकड़ों वर्ष पहले भी इस नृवंश का जड़नाश नही हुआ था।
वर्तमान में किसी न किसी रूप में कादर (केरल ) ; इरुल (पलियन ) अंगमीनागा (आसाम ) ; बेद्दा (श्री लंका ) की आदि जातियों में निषाद जातियों की प्रतिच्छाया मिलती है। अन्थ्रोपोलिजिकल सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया की सन 2010 की रिपोर्ट बताती है कि DNA अनुशंधान से पता चलता है कि बैगा (मध्य प्रदेश ) जैसी 26 आदि वासियों में निषाद जीन मिले हैं।
उत्तराखंड -हिमाचल के कुछ हरिजनो में पाये जाने वाले लक्षण जैसे धूमिल केश , मोटे होंठ , तथा मोटी नाक कहीं ना कहीं इस अनुमान की पुष्टि करती है कि निषाद नृवंश गढ़वाल , हिमाचल , हरिद्वार , बिजनौर , सहारनपुर में भी थी।

इनि राहुल गांधी द्वारा स्वच्छता अभियान की आलोचना से बि नरेंद्र मोदीक नुक्सान नि हूण वाळ। ये मामला मा क्षेत्रीय पार्टयूं नेता अधिक होसियार छन जु नरेंद्र मोदी या कॉंग्रेस का विरुद्ध या समर्थन मा ऊँ शब्दों तैं इस्तेमाल करदन जु ऊँका वोटरूं तैं पसंद आंदन। उत्तर प्रदेश का रामपुर वासी आजम खान ये मामला मा चतुर राजनीतिज्ञ च।
खैर अंत मा फिर से मि राहुल जी से अनुरोध करद कि नरेंद्र मोदी , अमित शाह या शिब्बू सोरेन तैं जथगा थिंचणाइ तुम जोर से थींचो , थंचकाओ, छपोड़ो किन्तु मार्केटिंग , विपणन कला तैं गाळि नि द्यावो। मार्केटिंग एक कला च , एक फिलोसोफी च अर मार्केटिंग रागस नी च जांक आलोचना करे जाव !

The following were spices grown in Garhwal in Pal or Shah period-
Wild Allium and Onion
Wild onion had been in use by human being for 5000BC. The bronze man started cultivating or using it for food uses or spices uses.
It seems onions were in cultivation in Garhwal at least in Bronze Age.
People of Garhwal, Bijnor and Haridwar used raw Onion as salad with bread and cooked vegetables too.
Garlic
Garlic had been in use for many centuries before Christ in Garhwal and were used for spices and medicinal uses in Garhwal. Garlic was important raw materials for Ayurvedic Medicines.
Cleome
There is no botanical data available when human being started using cleome. Therefore it might be called that cleome was used for centuries in Garhwal too.
Cinnamon (Dalchini)
Forest trees as Cinnamon is also used prehistoric time and is common names for many trees. In Sanskrit it is called Tamalpatram. It was used in Ayurvedic medicines too.
Coriander (Dhaniya)
Coriander is one of the oldest spices. It is believed that it is native of Mediterranean region and spread to India and China had been using it as spices and medicine for thousand years.
Turmeric
Turmaric is native of South Asia and had been in use for medicine for many millenniums in India including Garhwal.
Hemp
Hemp has many uses in Garhwal as elsewhere as for spices, medicines, addiction, fiber and wood. Record says that Chinese used hemp around 4000BC. That means Hemp had been in Garhwal from prehistoric period.
Ginger
Southeast Asia is original place of Ginger and Indians had been using it more than 2000 years early as medicinal plant and spices.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek was used as spices and condiments.
Wild Plants as Spices of Garhwal
Jakhya seeds (Cleome viscose)
Jakhya is wild plant and was one of the important spices of Garhwal and is /was used by frying in oil.

Jumbo a wild Allium
A wild herbal plant Jumbo seeds/grains were used as spices and condiments.
Laadu (Allium spices)
A wild plant Laadu's seeds and grains were used as spices and condiments.
Kalzi (Alpina galangal)
The rhizome of wild plant Kalzi was used as spices and condiments in Garhwal.
Choru
The seeds/grains/roots of wild plant Choru were used as spices and condiments
Pothya (Mentha arvensis)
Leaves were used for spices and condiments.
Timaru (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium)
Seeds and fruits of Timaru were used as spices and condiments
Black Pepper and Cloves
Black pepper and cloves were imported from Kerala and were rarest spices used in Garhwal.
Chili pepper or Mirch would have used after British came to power in Garhwal.

मार्केट चैनेल या वितरण की व्याख्या व भूमिका

वितरण का अर्थ है वह संस्थान और सेवा विधान जो ग्राहकों को पर्यटक स्थल अथवा पर्यटन सेवाओं का विक्री साहित्य , व अन्य जानकारी देता है। वितरक पर्यटन स्थल अथवा ग्राहक उपभोग्य वस्तु/सेवा /विचार और उपभोग से दूर या बहुत दूर होता है।

वितरण एक कड़ी होती है जिससे सूचनाएं , ज्ञान , सेवायें वित्त संवाहन करता है। जैसे सूचना का आदान प्रदान हेतु -टूरिस्ट प्लेस -टूर ऑपरेटर - बड़े वितरक , छोटे छोटे वितरक। बुकिंग का ग्राहक से धन - छोटे छोटे वितरक से बड़े वितरक से टूर ऑपरेटर तक और फिर पर्यटन स्थल के विभिन्न सेवा दाताओं के पास पंहुचता है। वितरक ग्राहक के निकटवर्ती स्थान रहता है। किन्तु अब नेट मार्केटिंग ने यह भ्रम भी तोड़ है कि वितरक को ग्राहक के पास होना आवश्यक है।

विभिन्न प्रकार से, विभिन्न विक्री माध्यमों , खरीदी माध्यमों से वितरक सीधे ग्राहक को सूचना देता है और उन्हें पर्यटन स्थल तक जाने के लिए लालायित /पटाता है। वितरक ग्राहक से पर्यटन स्थल जाने के लिए निर्णय लिवाता है ,अग्रिम सौदा करता है , अग्रिम धन वसूलता है। और वितरक पर्यटक स्थल की वस्तुओं /सेवाओं , वस्तुओं /सेवाओं के उत्पादक , टूर ऑपरेटर व ग्राहक के बीच मध्यस्त या कड़ी का काम करता है।

इतिहास विद्यार्थी ::: भीष्म कुकरेती
आदिम रोमसागरीय मानव पश्चिम एशिया से उत्तर पश्चिम भारत से भारत आये।
यह जाति अपने मझले कद , श्याम वर्ण और क्षीणकाय शरीर से पहिचानि जाती है।
यह जाति अति प्राचीनकाल से ही भारत में बस गयी थी। कालांतर में जब पश्चिम से अन्य जातियों का आगमन बढ़ा और इस आदिम जाति पर दबाब बढ़ता गया तो आदिम रोमसागरीय जाति दक्षिण भारत की ओर सरकती गयी। दक्षिण भारत में आदिम रोमसागरीय जाति के बंशज मिलते हैं (मजूमदार और पुसलकर , वैदिक एज )।
जहां तक उत्तर भारत का प्रश्न है आदिम रोमसागरीय जाति निषाद व कोल -मुंड जाति के साथ घुल मिल गयी।
कुछ इतिहासकार आदिम रोमसागरीय मानव को हड़प्पा या सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता (जो कि हरिद्वार सहारनपुर के द्वार तक पंहुच गयी थी ) का जनक बताते हैं। कुछ कोल मुंड शवर जाति को सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता का जनक बताते हैं।
