घरवळि - सुणो ! पड्याँ पड्याँ क्या करणा छां।  कुछ तो कखला बखली  कारो।
मि -मि त लालकृष्ण आडवाणी ह्वे ग्यों।  क्वी फेसबुक मा  Like इ नी करणु च।
घरवळि -तो गौं मा घौर बार , पुंगड़ी बांज पड़ीं छन ' , पलायन हूणू च पर लेख लेखि ल्यावदि।
मि - तीन लेख पोस्ट करिन , कै निर्दयीन Like नि कार।  चौथु लेख टूट्यां कूड़ो फोटो दगड़ लेख पोस्ट कार तो द्वी टिप्पणी ऐन बल बंद करो बकबास ! पिछ्ला सौ साल से तुम साहित्यकार पलायन पर लेखिक थकणा नि छावो ? 
घरवळि -तो गैरसैण राजधानी बणावो पर ही लेख लेखि ल्यावो। 
मि -अरे अयोध्या मा राममंदिर अर उत्तराखंड मा गैरसैण राजधानी विषय अब अप्रासांगिक ही ह्वे गेन।  कुत्ता बि नि सुंगणु यूँ विषयुं तैं।   
घरवळि - तो हरीश रावत पर गाळी वळु लेख इ पोस्ट कर द्यावो।
मि - उफ़ ! हरीश रावत पर लेख तो अब भाजपा वळ बि नी पढ्णा  छन।   
घरवळि - तो मुख्यंमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र रावत पर इ लेख ...
मि -उंका चमचों तै बि नी पड़ी कि लेख पौड़न।  सब सुचणा छन बल चुनाव तो पांच साल बाद आण अबि त सत्ता सुख भोगे जावो।
घरवळि - तो तुम अप्रासांगिक समाज शास्त्री तरां जनरल रावत पर कुछ लांछन हि लगै द्यावो।
मि -यूँ कौमनास्ट्यूं तो यी हाल छन।  प्रजातंत्र का खम्बा का सहारा लेकि प्रजातंत्र को उखाड़ो वळ काम च।  अब तो बंगाल अर केरल वळ बि यूंकि चाल समझी गेन।
घरवळि -हाँ पर पार्थ चटर्जी सरीखा मुर्दा पर जान तो ऐ गे कि ना ?
मि - नै नै नमकहरामी वळ जान नी चयेणी।
घरवळि - तो संजय निरुपम जन बोली द्यावो कि सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक  झूटी छे।
मि - संजय निरुपम त राहुल गांधी का पालतू कुत्ता च तो जन मालिक ब्वालल तन कुत्ता बि त भोँकल कि ना। वै पार्ट टाइम पोलिटिसियन  राहुलन बि त सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक खून की दलाली बोल छौ। लंडेर कुत्तों सरदार ! मुर्ख कंही का  !बाड्रा का साला !
घरवळि - तो तुम संदीप दीक्षित का कदमों पर चलिक ल्याखो कि इंडियन नेवी चीफ समुद्री डाकू च। 
मि - हे जुबान पर लगाम लगा हाँ।  में सरीखा वुद्धिजीवी अपण ही नेवी चीफ तै समुद्री डाकू ब्वालल त धिक्कार च मी तैं।  यदि मै सरीखा बुद्धिजीवी आर्मी का वास्ता इन शब्द इस्तेमाल कारल तो भारत तै दुश्मनो की क्या आवश्यकता च ?
घरवळि -अरे आजकल अप्रासांगिक नेता,   बुद्धिजीवी , समाज सेव्युं को  नरेंद्र मोदी तै गाळी दीणो  एकी तरीका रै गे कि आर्मी कु मनोबल गिराए जावो।
मि -मि अछेकि भारतीय छौं ना कि माँ हन्ता , मा को हत्यारा, गद्दार  संदीप दीक्षित जैन भारतीय सेनापति तै गली का गुंडा ब्वाल ।

घरवळि -ह्यां पण ! न्यूज मा रौणो बान   ....
मि -नहीं कॉंग्रेसी अर कम्युनिष्ट न्यूज मा रौणो बान सेनापति पर आक्षेप नि लगाणा छन अपितु नरेंद्र मोदी तै कमजोर करणो वास्ता आर्मी को मनोबल काम करण चाणा छन , पाकिस्तान तै सहारा दीणा छन। अपण देस का सेनापति का वास्ता  इन भाषा तो  गद्दार ही बोल सकुद ..
घरवळि -हाँ  राजनीति इथ्गा तौळ नरक जोग ह्वे गे।  चलो कुछ नि ल्याखो।  भारत से गद्दारी करणो जगा तो अप्रासांगिक हूण ही ठीक च।

               There were forests of Bhabhar and Shivalik hill zone forests or South Garhwal under Forest Division at initial stage.
   In 1864-65, government surveyed the forests of upper Garhwal and Kumaon regions. Government appointed Webber as forest surveyor for upper Garhwal forests. Webber reached to Mansarovar for forest survey.
Webber published a book 'Forests of Upper India and their Inhabitants'. Webber drew main Forest Maps on 1 12 inch paper and the measuring unit was 1 inch =1 mile. Webber provided details of forest area in acres, trees and their numbers and tree classes of each block.
  Cedrus/Devdaru  were less in upper Garhwal but pines, silver fur, spurs, cactus Surai, oaks , Ranga, Ransal trees etc were in abundance. 
  Initially less attention was there on those forests. Pines trees were there but being far away from rivers, they were not feasible right from business point of view. The forests around nad Prayag, near Tungnath valley, Madmaheshwar river, Vishnu Ganga valley, Dhauli River valley, Pilakhunta region were profitable for future. Devdaru forests were there up to Malari in Dhauli River valley but were far and transportation was difficult.

जैंगण अर बुर्या खौड़

              जब बि बरसात ऋतू या  घनघोर बरसात शुरू हूंद मि तै द्वी जीव याद ऐ जांदन।  जैंगण अर बुर्या खौड़।
बुर्या खौड़ का जलड रात चकदन अर कवि कालीदासन बि अपण नाटकों मा बुर्या खौड़ौ बिरतान्त दियुं च।  रत्यां बुर्या खौड़ौ जलड़ दूर से चमकद छा तो बचपन मा बड़ो अचर्ज हूंद छौ कि ये घासक जलड़ों पर मिट्टी तेल कखन आयी अर मट्टी तेल आयी त आयी पर जळाइ कैन च।  जब हम तै बुर्या खौड़ मा तेल कखन आयी अर तेल जळाण वळो पता अपण बूड़ बुड्यों से बि नि चलदो छौ तो हम बच्चा लोक समझ जांद छा कि भगवान ऎ ह्वाल , वैन तेल डाळी होलु अर फिर माचिसन जळै होलु।  हम छूट छुटा गोर मांगन कबि कबि बुर्या घासक जलड़ लह्यांद छा अर रात जलड़ पर उज्यळ दिखद छा। हम हम बच्चों कुण  भगवान हूंद च को सबसे बड़ो परमाण एक परमाण बुर्या खौड़ का जलड़ु चमकण बि छौ।  एक सवाल हमेशा अनुत्तरित रौंद छौ कि संसार मा  (मतबल ढांगू , डबरालस्यूं अर उदेपुर पट्टी ) मा एक साथ एकी समौ मा कु तेल डळदु अर कु जलड़ुँ पर आग लगान्द।  तब समझ मा आंदो छौ बल भगवान सबि हूंद अर वो बड़ा से बड़ा काम बि  सौंग ढंग से कौर लींदु।  या समज इ मि तै परीक्षा मा भगवान की पूजा करवांदि छे या घणो कुयड़ मा गोर नि दिखयावन तो भगवान पर भरोसा करिक मि गोर खुज्यान्दो छौ। 
      बरखा बगत रात्यूं मा भगवान की देन या जां से सिद्ध हूंद छौ बल भगवान च अर वो जीव छौ जैंगण।  गांव मा त सौण -भादों रात्यूं म कमि दिखेंदि छे किन्तु हैंक सारी  -पल्लि सारि अधिक हूंद छा। पल्लि सारी  जब हम ग्वाठम रात भगळवटम (मुख्य गुठळौ आण से पैल गोठ जग्वळण ) रौंदा छा तो जैंगण हम बच्चों कुण एक महत्वपूर्ण जीव हूंद छौ।
     जैंगण हमकुण कल्पना संसार मा जाणो एक बहुत उम्दा माध्यम छौ।  धरती पर हरो उज्यळ लेका यी जीव  कनै अचाणचक अवतरित ह्वे गेन ? ये  प्रश्न का उत्तर खुज्याण ही हमारो 'समय बिताने के लिए करना है कुछ काम' छौ। जैंगण पकड़णो वास्ता छौंपादौड़ से हम आनंद लींदा छा।  फिर पकड़ म आयीं जैंगण को लसलसो शरीर एक अजीब घिन पैदा करदो छौ।  पर फिर जैंगण का बाराम सुचण कि कनै पूठ  पर द्यू जळ होलु अर तेल कखन ऐ होलु । फिर प्रश्न हूंद थौ बल जैंगण तै आगन तपन नि हूंदी ह्वेलि ? या यदि जैंगणु पूठ पर द्यु न सै टॉर्च होलु तो टॉर्च कनै अर कु जळांद होलु अर टॉर्च बुझाणो कु आंद होलु। जैंगणुं से हमर विश्वास जादू पर पूरो ह्वे जांद छौ।   
    बाद मा हमन एक मुवावरा सूण थौ बल डूबते को तिनके का सहारा।  पर कृष्ण पक्ष की अँधेरी रात्यूं मा ग्वाठ से गाँव तक भौत सि जगा अन्ध्यरि जगा हि नि छे अपितु कुछ जगौं बाराम धारणा छै बल इखम -तखम भूत रौंदन।  इनम रस्ता दिखणो बरीक किरण अर जैगणो हूंद भूत नि आला  कु विश्वास ,अंध विश्वास या  हौसला तो जैंगणो से ही मिल्दु थौ।  जैंगण  तब हम बच्चों कुण देवदूत  ही साबित हूंद छइ।
  जैंगण क्या क्या नि छे हमकुण।  भौत कुछ। मनोरंजन बि, रोमांच बि अर कल्पनालोक जाणो माध्यम बि।
बाद मा विज्ञान पढ़न से पता चौल कि बुर्या खौड़ या जैंगणो पूठ पर कुछ केमिकल लोचा से उज्यळ हूंद किन्तु जैंगणु से जु थ्रिल , रोमांच , धुकधुकी हूंदी थै वो आज बि विज्ञानं नि लूठ साक।

                        North East Garhwal Forests
      There were pines trees at Pindar River bank from Betwa to Kulsari. Webber praised those forests. There is abundant water in Pindar River from May to October. The cut sleepers could easily flow on Pindar River water. From Pindar and Alaknanda conferences,  the sleeper could easily flow to Haridwar through Alaknanda and from devprayag though  Ganga Rivers. There were no hurdles for sleepers flowing up to Haridwar. There was abundant water for sleeper flowing in Nandakini River too. The pine forests in Nandakini and Pindar valleys were long, Most of pine trees were of five feet diameter. Above Kanali, Cyprus and other xerophytes trees were there including Devdaru. 
               South Garhwal Forests
Up to 8000 Feet, around Kainur, Sungarkhal, Juniyagarh and Dudhatoli hills of Nayar River valley, there were dense forests of oaks and Kharsu. Ransal trees were there in 11 sqaure miles in Dudhatoli valley. In rainy season, near Kainyur valley,  sleepers could follow in near Nayar River that meets Vyaschatti with Ganga. However, around Chiplaghat there were hurdles in Nayar River flow. In Upper region of Nayar Valley, there were oak, kharsu and ransal  trees and in south, other trees were there.

156 सेंटीमीटर लम्बा सारस भारत में सबसे ऊँचा पक्षी (1 . 8 मीटर ) माना जाता है। सारस के सिलेटी रंग के पंख होते है और सर व गर्दन लाल रंग का होता है।  सारस का मुकुट मटमैला होता है।  नर व मादा दोस्ती होने के बाद सदा साथ रहते हैं। इनकी संख्या कम होती जा रही है।

क्या आप सीण से पैल सुचदा कि बिजदि तुमर मूडन खराब रौण।
क्या आप साफ़ साफ़ बुलणो जगा गण गण रूप मा असन्तोषी शब्द बुलणा रौंदा ?
क्या आपक द्वी दाढ़क दांत जब मिल्दन तो तुम तै सब दांत सिल्ल व खट्टा लगदन ?

      Nearly, every village had its own manly unmeasured forest s comprising trees, shrubs, grassland or barren land surrounding village or inside the village.   From old age, such forests were supposed to be assets of the village. The villagers had right on those forests for their uses for furniture, fences, cattle grazing and other uses. Trail accounted for agriculture and such forests for each village. Dr. Dabral states that the custom of village forest demarcation remains same as on now.
  In 1839, Batten declared that the community forest and agriculture land under villages will be recognized that have been measured and recorded. However, the villagers had opposite perception. Gairola (settlement revenue , division of Kumaun, page 210)  stated that Batten declared such declaration for favoring Europeans grab land for tea cultivation. Batten and Ramsey made clear that  villagers would not have rights on all land. Batten administration offered land for tea gardening in Garhwal and Kumaon.
  However, villagers used that unmeasured or government land as usual. Government called that land users land.

32 से 35 सेंटीमीटर लम्बे जल मुर्ग साधारणतः दलदल , पानी वाले सतह के पास वाली जगह , खूब वनस्पति वाली झीलों  नहरों के पास शर्दियों में मैदानी इलाकों में  पाए जाते हैं।

प्रजनन समय नर मुर्ग की चोंच लाल व चूंच किनारा पीला हो जाता है और अन्य समय इन अंगों का  मटमैले रंग होता है।

Badridatt Pandey divided forest establishment by British in three phases –
                                    Phase -1 from 1815-1878
  In this phase, government tried for controlling forest destruction. However, the customary right of villages remained same as of past.
  In 1856, here and there,  the forests were notified under protected forests. In 1875, British government got right on 3700 square miles forests. Government appointed one forest officer for Kumaon. Villagers did not get trouble by the first phase.
In 1868, Government declared Bhabhar forest as preserved forests. In 1877, government notified Bhabhar forests as reserved forests.
           Phase -2 1878-1893
There was amendment in forest regulation in 1878. In 1882, the Imperial forest department was shifted to provincial department. Between 1885-90, a few forests were leased to iron mining companies.

   The third phase forest settlement was from 1893-1947 (Pandey).
             British officers as Sir John Hovet, Sir John Campbell, Sir Buk took interest in Uttarakhand forests and announced rules from Nainital that the unmeasured land, barren land snow borne land, rivers, rivulets, pond-lakes, hills would be called government properties. It is said that the above officers were really the hunters and they did not made rules for forest protection but for protecting hunting jungles. 
           ABC classification of Forests
     In between officials classified forests.
     There was no nominal right for citizens on A class forest.  There was a little bit rights of citizens on B class forests. The citizens have rights on  C class forests or open forests that was nearby villages. 
        Government declared Devdaru, pines, , sal, kail, Shisham, Tun  and Khair trees as Rserved or Royal trees and even the citizens could not cut them from their own land without government permission.
  Government made many restrictions on citizens for using forest and forest produces. Government banned on fishing, hunting without permission. Government officials fined many citizens and many were put in prison. Forest guards (patrol) gave pains to the citizens.
    There was forest settlement from 1911 to 1915.  Government ignored all measurement for last eighty years. Government took control over all forests and citizens were deprived even from plucking leaves. Citizens showed their dissatisfaction, but government ignored citizen demand. In many cases, the agriculture land came under forest. Government paid nominal compensation.
