      'Marjad' has three aspects. First the folk games being played by teen aged girls as putting plant ornaments Nath and Bulak. There is very effective search by fiction writer about the worries of a father for his daughter's marriage. Third aspect of story is protection of village pride by a girl. These three aspects or events are part of story and compel the readers to finish the story at one sitting. The story writer pays attention of character building and portraying the emotion that language style takes back seat.

Satirical Poem by Raghuveer Singh 'Ayal' alias 'Guthyar'

Raghuveer Singh 'Ayal' (Village- Ayal, Paidulsyun, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, 1938) is a prominent signature in Garhwali poetry.
   'Ayal' is more famous for his adding 'Guthyar' word (chauk, Courtyard) in the last line of his Garhwali poetry.  Though Ayal is versatile poet, but was famous for his sharp satire and attacking on our social, political or cultural behavior. The poem attacks on policies makers and then taking advantages of those policies through encroaching other's rights. The use of figures of speech by phrases makes the poem timeless.
The following poem is an example of his attacking on social behavior and his power of vocabulary

Umal: Importance of Sharing own Story (affliction)

  Durga Prasad Ghildiyal is different in storytelling methodology among Garhwali story writers. 'Umal' story tells the universal truth that very body wants to empty the mind by telling something to somebody.
The story teller concludes his story theme at the beginning of story in following words
"ह्याँ बोडि , जब मन मा उमाळ उठद ट वे उमाळ भैर गाड़ीक सच्ची इ भरि शांति मिलदी . मन हळको ह्व़े जांद "
   Daya Nand meets his friend Veer Singh's eighty years old mother. She shows her mental agony about peace of mind. Eighty years old woman wanted to tell something. Daya Nand does not have time. Daya Nand comes again when she was alone and she tells her story. Bodi feels satisfaction after telling her story to somebody. She was feeling weightless.
Bodi dies after a few days of this incident.
     Durga Prasad is successful in portraying a psychological point of the importance of sharing to another person by a person about affliction, pain, happiness or achievement- non achievement.

   व्यंग्य असल मा कुछ नी च एक बात बुलणो बिगळयूँ  ब्यूंत च. जन कि छ त बडी गितांग पण क्या करण जनम बिटेन जुकाम रौंद त  स्या गीत उन्नी भौण मा गन्दी.

मीन घड्याइ /स्वाच  बल व्यंग्य क्या कौरी सकुद

चबोड्या साहित्यकार अजम (नि हिलण वाळ ) राजनैतिक व्यवस्था तै हलकै  सकुद- द्याख च आपन देखी ह्वाल बल एन.सी.आर. क किताब का शंकर को चखन्यौर्या रिखडौ   न आंबेडकर वादी  अर नेहरु बाद्युं कि निंद हराम कै.

चबोड्या साहित्य अजाण तै   सजाण /सुजाण, अजाक तै समजदार अडबंग तै  ढंगौ बणै दीन्दो.

जै पर व्यंग्य करे ग्याई वो अजाप (श्राप) दीणो तैयार रौंदू. 

मसखरी मसखरी मा साहित्य अटकण तै सटकण मा बदली दीन्दो

असली चखन्यौर्या  लिखाड़ वी च जो अटाक (रस्ते से हटकर) साहित्य द्याओ .

मजाकिया ब्यूंत मा लिख्युं साहित्य भ्रष्टाचारियूँ  तै इन अटेरदों  जन हम धुयाँ   झुल्ला  अटेरदां

अनाचार्युं की खोज व्यंग्यकार इनी करद जन बुल्यां कै चिंचुड़ या अट्टा कि  खोज ह्वाओ

व्यंगकार अजब्याळि पर नजर डाळणु रौंद अर दगड मा अग्वाड़ी बि देखणु रौंद याने अडिन्ठा तै दिखवळ बणान्दू

व्यंग्यकार अदखिचरी बातुं   मजाक उड़ान्द .

अदलती जनता क बात लोगूँ तक व्यंग्यकार पौन्चान्दो अर अदानो तै रस्ता दिखांदु

अनमनि भौण का व्यंग्य जादा असरकारी होन्दन.

जो देस, समाज का अन्याड़ (नुकसान) करदन वुंकी बेज्जती बि व्यंग्युं मा हूंद.

सीदा लोगूँ दगड असली व्यंग्यकार की अपड़ीयूंत होंद.

अपत्यारु/ अणभर्वस्या  अर अपरज्जी/अराजक  नेता या अप्सरों पर चिरोड़ा मार्दन.

देस का, समाज का  आंकियूँ (दुश्मन) या देस-समाज का आंखुर्यौं (वैर की भावना)  का पर्दाफास  बि व्यंग्यकार करदो

अळगस्युं पर चबोड़ से खूब मार पद्दी

व्यंगकार समाज मा औ-बटाउ (बेघरबार ) वळु हकौ छ्वीं करदो

चबोड्या  साहित्य अबिंड़ो/ अणबुल्या, असूर   लोगु तै अड़ान्द च

बकै अगवा ड़ी अंकुं मा ....

When Krishna says in Geeta that 'I was there when xyz were there or this was told by Surya to xyz "that means conscious was there when this galaxy or elements were formed in hidden form.
  Same thing is applied in poetry that conscious or emotions were same from the beginning of poetry creation as they are in today's poetry creation. Poets have been changing symbols for creating same emotions that Krishna is talking about.
  Madan Duklan is important signature in Garhwali poetry not that he created volumes but readers and critics admire Madan that he brings new symbols for describing emotions and creating enjoyable images.
  He perfectly bends old common phrases and newer symbols for creating the desired images into mind. 
   The following poem is an illustration for critics admiring Madan Duklan.
हवैजाज सि उड़दन सुख
कवि- मदन डुकलाण
कबि घाम छन कबि छैल छन
येत जिन्दगी का खेल छन
रोज होन्दन इम्त्यान यख
पास हूणा कवी फेल छन
सूनु छक्वे यख नाक नी छ
जोग का ये खेल छन
बं जौं देखी रूणा बल्द
हळया नदारद गैल छन
हवै जाज सि उड़दन सुख
दुखून की रेल छन

Dushman: A Shocking Satirical Poem by Madan Duklan

    (Review of Poems of 'Andi Jandi Sans' a Garhwali Poetry collection by Madan Duklan)

  Critics state that the specialty of poems by famous Garhwali poet Madan Duklan is that he seldom repeats the old subject and if he does so there will differences in phrases and methodology of creating images in the mind of readers.
  The following poem is an example of providing shocks to the readers by Garhwali satirical poem. The satirical poem does not have any humor but ultimately frightens the readers for the state of humanity.

कतगा महान छौ रे भग्यान,गुजडू को थानी.
नारंगी कि दाणि मिठी भग्यान,नारंगी कि दाणी.
कतगा महान छौ रे भग्यान,गुजडू को थानी.

खैंडी जालि खाई गैरी भग्यान,खैंडी जाली खाई.
आजादी का बान त्वेन भग्यान,कनि लड़ी लडाई.
कतगा महान छौ रे भग्यान,गुजडू को थानी.

खाई जालो केला देसि भग्यान,खाई जालो केला.
कतगा बार गैन जेल भग्यान,गांधीजी कु चेला.
कतगा महान छौ रे भग्यान,गुजडू को थानी.

चदरी कि खाप चौड़ी भग्यान,चदरी कि खाप.
यूजर्स कि गाड़ी चलि भज्ञान ,तेरा ही प्रताप.

Apjas:  Story about Self pity due to Disrepute

                    Disrepute, disgrace, ill repute, disrespect, disregard, insolence or impertinence is such pain that person feels self –pity and self-pity is always hurting for human.
          Umesh goes to Delhi with Mohan Singh for getting employment and parents of Umesh were feeling obliged to Mohan Singh. However, Umesh ran away from there and there was no sign of Umesh anywhere. It is Apjas on Mohan Singh. Later, after many years, younger brother of Umesh Vinod is returning to village from Delhi with Mohan Singh, Mohan Singh is again worried for new 'Apjas' (disrepute). Umesh returns to village from Vanaras as professor and they all meet in village. Now everybody is clean slate. Now, nobody feels self pity.
   The story deals effectively with the pain of self pity due to disrepute.

चौमास का दिन
कतगा भला,कतगा सुवान्दा
चरि तरफ फैलीं हर्याळ
पाणि कु तर-पराट
गदेरों कु छल-छलाट
चखुलों कु किल-किलाट

डांडी-कांठ्यों मा
कुयेड़ी लगीं घनघोर
ग्वैर ढूंढ़णा छन
अपणा-अपणा गोर
निर्भगी हौलु
कनु लग्युं च
बींदी गौड़ी कि घांडी
दूर बजणी च

ग्वैरणी लगाणी च धै
ये दगड्या ये हू ! ! !
इथैं कखि
म्यारा गोर बि छन
बार-बार धै लगाण पर बि
कुछ जबाब नि सुणेंदु

आखिर मा य फटकार दींद -
तांबा तौली,पितल़ा पैसी
हौली रांडा फाट-फाट
हमारू छाला कि कुयेड़ी
सरि-सरि छाट-छाट.
