The religious ritual animal sacrifice is common all over world and in Garhwal as well.  Dharma Nand Uniyal shows worries on animal sacrifices in religious rituals for so called benefits to human beings in 'Jaunl Bagi' story.  Vikram got appointment in army. The war starts.Subhaga the mother of Vikram takes oath about no loss to Vikram and she will sacrifice a pair of buffalos to deities.  She bought two buffalos Bhura and Kalu. At the time of ritual Bhura and Kalu revolt against human beings and jumped into Ganges.
The story narration is in two parts-the narration about human activities and dialogues among human and narration about feeling of buffalos and dialogues between two buffalos.
Uniyal is successful in characterization of main characters Subhaga and two buffalos- Bhura and Kalu. Uniyal narrates well in narrating the ritual atmosphere in the village. His narration creates perfect images.
The language of story 'Jaunl Bagi' is in Tiryali dialects.

Prakashmani Dhashmana    is a senior journalist of Dehradun and is executive editor of Rant Raibar a Garhwali weekly.  Dhashmana writes regular humorous and satirical columns for the weekly by 'Chakdait Uvach'. The readers like his writing style.
Hak ko Paisa (Rant Raibar, 30/7/2012) discusses humorously and satirically about president election, current low profile position by Rahul Gandhi, Anna Hajare and in the last Dhashmana attacks satirically on corruption in government works.
A government employee states his history as

Since, the column is aimed at newspaper readers, Prakashmani discusses current event in newspaper style. Dr. Anil Dabral calls such style as 'Akhbari Shaili'. In 'Akhbari Shaili', the satirical writer pays attention on shocking the readers more than the literary sense in writing.

'Fans' is a sad story about injustice for girl (female) child birth published in 'Hilans' (October, 1985) written by Bhishma Kukreti.
Bhishma Kukreti took the issue of injustice to girl (female) child birth from the society. Kalpa was very agile, active cooperative and friendly woman in the village. Kalpa was always positive for life. The old a, young and children of village liked Kalpa very much. However, she did suicide after giving birth to second girl (female) child in succession. The whole village was in shock. Only her friend Pavitra was aware about the real reason that the suicide of positive personality Kalpa was due to injustice to girl (female) child birth.
From the beginning of story the reader is anxious to know the reason for suicidal ct of person as Kalpa. Bhishma Kukreti is successful in creating agile, responsive to help, cooperative and courageous character of Kalpa. Kukreti used folk songs for developing story and character of Kalpa. The story flow is very fast. The impact of story is clear not do injustice to girl (female) child birth.
Injustice for Girl (female) Child in this century
Females used to dominate the human society at initial stage of civilization. If we analyze properly the stories of Mahabharata the females were dominating for carrying the family name. Today, the perception is that male child is the carrier of a family. However, biologically, female is child is real carrier of genes.
Sheryl WuDunn's book "Half the Sky" discusses about women oppression and horror stories about injustice to girl (female) child birth.
PTI reported (May, 11, 2012) sad story about injustice to girl (female) child birth that a husband left his wife after she gave birth to two girl (female) children.
CNN (14 June, 2012) reported another sad story about injustice to girl (female) child that an Indian father accused of killing baby for being a girl.
Times of India (27 July, 2012) reports a sad story about injustice to girl (female)child birth that a 22 years old husband killed his 20 years old wife for giving birth to girl (female) child.

Parashar gaud posted 'nak ku prateet' a Garhwali language satire on 16/10/2009.
Parashar Gaud attacks on the politicians for their esteem-less and pride-less actions. The satire is small and is through dialogues between the writer and elder aunt. In Hindi and Garhwali languages, the nose is the symbol of pride. The battle between Ravan and Rama was due to Lakshman cut the nose of Shurpankhaan the sister of Rawan.  Parashar uses 'nose' as symbolic word for satirizing the politicians for their esteem-less and pride-less actions.

Bwari nai jamana ki: Story depicting of social changes and human behavior transformation

Critical Review of Modern Garhwali Stories -110

Technology is changing fast and changes in human behavior or social changes are occurring dramatically. In every era there are changes in human behavior of society.  In every era there are new social norms. These new social norms are nothing but the result of changes in human behavior due to technical innovations or new types of education. Due to many factors, the family relationship norms are also changing in the society.
The social change is evident in generation gap between old generation and new generation. There are apparent differences between the values of old generation and social values of new generation. The Garhwali Story 'Bwari nai Jamana ki' (Hilans, April, 1984) by famous Garhwali fiction writer Balendu Badola depicts the social changes, human behavior transformations and gaps of values between old and new generations.
Reethu is in working in the city. In village, his mother is worried that Reethu did not post the letter for many months.  Reethu's mother discusses the subject of not receiving letter from her son to everybody. Everybody shows sympathy before her but on the back everybody laughs at her and her behavior.  One day her daughter in law who is high school passed woman shows and reads her a postcard and says that this is Reethu's letter.  In letter, Reethu asks his mother for extreme caring for his wife and not to bother his wife by any means. The letter content is against the nature of Reethu. Reethu's mother has doubt that the post card does not have post office stamp. In night, Reethu's mother comes to know the real secret of non post office stamps on postcard and also comes to the conspiracy.
Balendu Badola is successful in showing the social changes and value changes in the new generation. There is total value transformation in new generation.
Badola effectively shows the worries of a mother for not receiving timely letters from her migrated son. Badola uses the Cahundkoti regional language dialects. He changed various Hindi words into Garhwali or 'Hindi ka Garhwalikaran'. The narration style is simple and there are fewer dialogues in the story.
