Editor of Hilans  Arjun Singh Gusain was a future reader. In Hilans (March 1988), Gusain published the article of Chandra Shekhar Tiwari and Arun khuksal in the editorial column. In editorial 'Pahado ki Simtati Kheti ka Vikalp: Bagwani aur jangal' , the duo authors provide the reasons for diminishing agriculture in hills of Uttarakhand and provide the horticulture and forest as alternates of conventional agriculture.  The writers proved that horticulture is commercially more beneficial to the people of hills of Uttarakhand.   Before, British rule, the forests were the properly of villages in Garhwal. British changed the forest regulation and from the day one the corruption in forest department started. As soon as corruption in forest department started the forest mafia came in existence.

As far as Mumbai is concerned for separate Uttarakhand movement, there are five migrated Uttarakhandis who initiated Uttarakhand movement in Mumbai- Dr. Balbir Singh Rawat, Bhishma Kukreti, Arjun Singh Gusain, Girish Dhoundiyal and Jagdish Kapari.  Arjun Singh Gusain, Professor Radha Ballabh Dobhal, Bhishma Kukreti, Raman Kukreti used to discuss about Prithak Parvtiy Rajy before the real movement started In Mumbai.  Later on Gusain and Kapri took the lead in leading Uttarakhand movement in Mumbai.  Arjun Singh Gusain contested election too for the cause of separate Uttarakhand state.
Arjun Singh Gusain the editor of Hilans justified the relevancy of separate Uttarakhand in Hilans (April 1988). Gusain the editor of regional magazine justified that small state is a must for developing the areas as per areas requirement. The respected editor Gusain argued that there was less chance for developing hilly areas against plains in big state as Uttar Pradesh.  The editor Gusain justified or pleaded   that the corruption in big states as Uttar Pradesh was always more as compared to small states. The small sate demand as Uttarakhand is also important for the cultural and linguistic reasons.  Identity was another factor for Editor Arjun Singh Gusain for justifying or advocating small state. Good governance through small states was another point of editor Gusain justifying  small sate as Uttarakhand.

Garhwali story 'Mankhyat' (Hilans, July, 1988) by Kali Prasad Ghildiyal is about precept and practice. A famous writer writes about eradication of untouchability, difference between race and color. However, when time comes the writer does not practice what he preaches in his writing.
The story about precept and practice is written in letter style and the victim is writing letter to the writer. As usual the language is simple and many Hindi words. The story about precept and practice 'Mankhyat' is effective in providing message to readers.

Bhishma Kukreti one of the prominent satirists of Himalayan language literature (as Parashar Gaur, Puran Pant, Prakash Mani, and Tribhuwan Uniyal) wrote on various subjects.  'Sahkaryan' (Garh Aina, 28/5/1990) is satire on cooperative movement in rural Garhwal.
Kukreti narrates that in past the rural inhabitants were cooperative due to culture and need. However, the day government declared cooperative movement as fashion the cooperation took one eighty degree turn.  The  cooperatives as producer cooperative, public distribution cooperatives, marketing cooperatives, stone cutting cooperatives, credit cooperatives, forest product cooperative; fruit growers cooperative, vegetable grower cooperative and many more cooperatives were opened  in the village. The problem came for erecting boards of these cooperatives. The villagers started fighting for place of boards or color of boards and the whole natural or old cooperation among villagers started shattered.
Kukreti, satirically attacks on the basic uncooperative behavior of members of cooperative societies.         Kukreti stressed that the people are forgetting the real meaning of cooperation after coming cooperatives. Cooperation is the foundation of cooperatives. However, when the cooperatives become the tool of shattering cooperation the results are opposite of basic purpose of opening cooperatives. Kukreti used exaggeration style in this satire.

Vijay Singh Lingwal is multifarious Garhwali literature creator. Apart from poetries, he wrote Garhwali stories too. His Garhwali story 'Rukma ' (Hilans, August, 1988) discusses the subject of woman as consumable object, the need of taking loan from unethical money lender, the economic problem in rural Garhwal and role of money lending  in rural areas.
The people depend on agriculture in rural Garhwal. When the agriculture goes down, people take loan from money lender and money lender charges heavy interest. Kalam Singh took loan for his marriage from money lender. Kalam Singh was unable to repay the loan after many years. The sevety two years old money lender asks Kalam Singh to marry his teen age daughter with him. Initially, Kalam Singh did not agree but at the end he agrees to marry his teen age daughter with old money lender.   After marriage ceremony Rukma comes to house of money lender and next morning, there is great shock for all.
The story writer could create characters very easily and in characterization, Lingwal discusses various issues on importance of money lender and his exploitation. At the end he raises the question of woman being a consumable object.
Lingwal writes stories in simple style with Tiryali dailects. Mohan Lal Negi and a couple of other writers also wrote stories on money lending and women as consumables.

Ham kakh jana Chhan (1994) a satire by Puran Pant Pathik is about declining the social and cultural norms in the society. Puran Pant rage fully states that we like to flatter others but we don't respect our own people.  We have mortgage our pride, vision, clear thinking, courage and are bending toward coward character. We are becoming habitual of pulling down our own people as crabs. The society is bent to see other's negative points only and leaving positive thinking. In cultural field too, we are confused and are leaving our cultural values.
The satirist uses figurative language for satirizing decline in social and cultural values.
