वूंकी पाल्युन  पर
तिडवाल  पोडीगैन |

नोन्याल जु गै छ
पढ़णखु
वून्का बस्ता
घौर पोछिगैन |

अन्न पाणी
दवा -  दारु
पौंछि नि सकदू
सड़की रयाड़
बनीगैन |

असमानमा
रिन्ग्दा बैरा गरूढ़का
आन्खाबी
फूटीगैन |

जौन नि पस्सारी
कबि हथ
कैका अग्ने
वी आज
मोहताज़
ह्वेगैन |

                      उन सब्युं तैं रिंकल रिलीजर का बाराम जणन जरूरी ह्वे गे।
       सिलवट , सिकुड़न याने रिंकल्स मनुष्य कुण सद्यनि बिटेन एक समस्या , एक शिकवा एक प्रोबलम राई। 
       जख तलक  कपड़ा , झुल्लौं पर सिलवटुं सवाल च म्यार ऐतिहासिक ज्ञानौ हिसाब से  गुर्ख्याणी  तक  कपड़औँ पर सिलवट क्वी समस्या नि छे।  तब झल्लौं पर सिलवट सभ्य लोगुं निसाणी छे।  उ त अंग्रेजुंन हम तै जागृत कार बल कपड़ों पर सिलवट एक असभ्य मनिखौ निसाणी च तब जैका  हमर चेतना जाग कि सिलवट चाहे कपडों कु ह्वावु या मुख कु द्वी असभ्यता का द्योतक छन।  जब तलक प्रॉक्टर गैंबल, यूनी लीवर  आदि कम्पनी नि ऐ छया तब तक कपड़ों पर सिलवट अर मुख पर झुर्री बड़ लोगुं निसाणि छे।
   इख तलक कि अंग्रेजुं समौ पर बि थोकदार जी ,  भरदार जी अर कल्यो लिजाणो श्रमिकदार जी - सब्युंका कपड़ों मा सिलवट हूंदी छे अर तब सिलवट आर्थिक स्थिति भांपणो , मापणो ,  नापणो पैमाना नि छौ।  अर तब त मूंजी , सिलवट , चुनवट जूं आदि का वास्ता निवासस्थान बि छौ।  तब हम अधिक अहिंसावादी छा तो कपड़ों मा मूंजी  रखे जांद छा कि जूं , मक्वड़ या उप्पन आदियुं तैं पाळणो जगा दिए जावो।  अर मानेका गांधी तो आज बि बुलणि रौंदी कि हिमाचल -उत्तराखंड का गांवों मा सुंगर सुरक्षा का साथ साथ जूं पालन पर बि ध्यान दीण आवश्यक च।  वैदिन मानेका गांधी अर स्वास्थ्य मंत्री नड्डा  मा भयंकर वाक्युद्ध ह्वे गे। मानेका गांधीक बुलण छौ कि  हिमाचल -उत्तराखंड का लोगुं तै केवल नडियादार सुलार पैरण चयेंद अर सात दिन तक एकी सुलार पैर्युं रखण चयेंद , जांसेकि जूं फलन -फूलन। जब कि नड्डा कु बुलण छौ कि रोज झुल्ला धुये जाण चयेंद जांसे कि प्रॉक्टर गैंबल, यूनी लीवर  आदि कम्पनी लाभ कमावन अर भारत मा FDI अधिक  आवो।
            तब सब ठीक छौ जब सिलवट अर झुर्री समस्या नि छे।  किन्तु अंग्रेजुं आण से गांवुं मा बि कोल आइरन -इस्तरी पौंछि गे वाया सिपै दादा।  अर कपड़ों पर सिलवट -चिनवट असभ्यता कि निसाणी ह्वे गे। तब ब्यौ काजुं मा मूछुँ मा चौंळू  टींड  ना अपितु सिलवट विहीन कपड़ा मातवरै निसाणी बण गे। 
           बुल्दन बल बड़ा गौड़  घास खावन अर छुट बछर  थुंथर चाटन। गांवुं मा क्या शहरूं मा बि जौमा इस्तरी छे सि सिलवट दूर करणो वास्ता इस्तरी चलांद छा  अर बकै   लुट्या पर अंगार धौरिक सिलवटुं छत्यानास करदा छा।  जन आज पोलियो हटावो आंदोलन चलणु च तब दस  बारा दशकों तक सिलवट हटावो आंदोलन चलणु राइ अर गांधी जी बि सिलवट विरोधी ह्वे गे छा।  नेहरू जी का  चकाचक सिलवट विहीन कपड़ा   देखिक गांधी जी बि सिलवट विरोधी ह्वे गे छा।  या मेरी मौलिक खोज च कि गांधी जी बि सिलवट विरोधी छा अर मीन देशहित मा ये आविष्कार पर अपण क्वी कॉपीराइट नि रखणाइ।
        सिलवट अर कोयला की इस्तरी अर बाद मा इलेक्ट्रिक आइरन का मध्य भौत सालों तक गरमा गरम युद्ध चलणो राइ।  इन मा जागतिक शीत युद्ध का दौरान , पॉलिस्टर की खोज ह्वे अर सिलवट विहीन कपड़ा बजार मा ऐ गेन।  किन्तु फिर बि बार बार सिलवट हिम्म्त दिखैक कपड़ा धारक तैं दिखे ही जांदी छे। 
           अब जब बिटेन  रिंकल रिलीजर आइ तब बिटेन रिंकल याने सिलवटुं महिमामंडन समाप्त हूण शुरू ह्वे गे।  यू प्रॉमिस मि ना अपितु  भौत सा कम्पनी करणा छन।  बस कखिम बि कपड़ा पर सिलवट , चिनवट या  रिंकल दिखे ना कि एक  बूंद रिकल रिलीजर लगै द्यावो तो सेकंडों मा रिंकल गायब अर दगड़म सुगन्धित सुगंध बि आस पास छुड़द ।  सुणन मा आणु  च बल एक कम्पनी रिंकल रिलीजर का साथ एक अपोजिट सेक्स अट्रैक्टर परफ्यूम बि मिलाण वळ च।  फिर सिलवट विहीनता का साथ साथ अपोजिट सेक्स बि आकर्षित होलु।  पर जब यदि कै मीटिंग या पार्टी मा एकी लिंग का मानव भाग ल्याल तो रिंकल रिलीजर विद अपोजिट सेक्स अट्रैक्टिंग परफ्यूम  से क्या धमाल ह्वालु यांकी कल्पना से म्यार मुख पर सिलवट पड़ी जांदन।
इनि फेस रिंकल रिलीजर से बि झुर्री कुछ देरौ कुण या कुछ दिनौ कुण गायब ह्वे जांदन बल।  मतबल विज्ञापन बथांदन कि फेस रिंकल रिलीजर का प्रयोग से दादी अर नातिण की आयु , एज का पता इ नि   चलद। कुज्याण , कुज्याण क्या भंगुल जमणु च धौं !   
                  खैर चाहे क्लॉथ रिंकल रिलीजर हो या फेस रिंकल रिलीजर हो मनुष्य तब बि सुखी नि ह्वे सकुद। मानव तै तो लाइफ का रिंकल रिलीजर चयेणु च अर ये विषय  पर जैदिन बाबा रामदेव की नजर  पोड़ली वैन लाइफ रिंकल रिलीजर बजार मा उतारी दीण।  मि त जीवन मा सिलवट  नि रावो की दवै  की जग्वाळ मा छौं।  अर आप क्योंकि प्रतीक्षा मा छंवां रिंकल रिलीजर या रिंकललेस लाइफ  ? सिलवट विहीन जिंदगी ?

Umadatt Naithani: The Founder Member of Garhwali Sahitya Parishad and a Garhwali language poet

               Umadatt Naithani is one of the Garhwali language creator who worked more for organizing the conferences for reading poetries and discussion on Garhwali literature . Ummadatt Naithani is remembered for his translation of Shrimad Geeta and Meghdoot .
                Umadatt Naithani was born in 1921 in a Himalayan village Bhetuli , Maniyarsyun, Salan of Pauri Garhwal. Umadataa Naithani worked with Public Works Department Delhi. Umadatt expired in 1971.

                 Umadatt was a social worker and he organized Night Classes for Garhwalis in Delhi . Umadatt is also one of the founder members of Garhwali Sahitya Mandal founded in 1943. The organization used to organize meeting and conferences of literature creative of Garhwal. Garhwali Sahitya Mandal used to publish handwritten Garhwali language magazine ' Girish' and Umadatt used to contribute in writing and distributing the same.
                Apart from publishing Garhwali language poems here and there, Umadatt is famous for his translation of Shrimad Gita and Great poet Kalidas created Meghdoot . The flow of his translating two Sanskrit classics was the specialty of Umadatt Naithani and he was always in demand for reading his poems of Meghdoot or Gita in Garhwali literature conferences of Delhi. One example :
Takh dyakha vain, dwee sena beecha
Apna hi apna kwee gair neecha
Bhai Bhatia swara va syala
Jethu jawain sab dekha bhala
               The wordings of Naithani create flow in the poems and readers become more interested in reading translation of these classics than the original ones.
Umadatt also wrote ' Garhwali Vyakaran ' a gramar book on Garhwali language and Abodh Bandhu Bahuguna regretted that it is great loss to Garhwali language that the book could not be published by Umadatt Naithani due to his sudden death.

सब हाल देखी जब शोक ह्वेगे।

        Dhad a Garhwali magazine came with a special edition of Garhwali Poetry Posters May 2016.  This is an appreciating initiative by Dhad team specially Lokesh Nawani, Sushila Badola and Ganesh Khugsal 'Gani'.
      The Garhwali Poetry Poster edition has many shades to be mentioned.
  In the present issue, Ganesh 'Gani' explains remarkably the importance of Kavita Posters –Poetry Posters in a language.  He explains the Poetry Poster is every much essential for creating engaging interest among old and newer readers.
      Dr Nand Kishor Hatwal, Tribhuwan Uniyal and Arjun Singh Negi offer the works of great Artist B. Mohan Negi for his contribution in Garhwali Kavita Posters in details.
        Dr Yogesh Dhashmana illustrates the fine works of Suresh Verma for his Kavita Posters, miniatures and landscape arts.
   Dr Satish Kaleshwari tells us the works of Devendra Naithani in Poetry collection.
  Critics Virendra Panwar shows the inner voice of poetry poster artist Ashish Negi and also explains the exclusivity of Ashis Negi.
  Jagdish Negi offers the readers about the outstanding desire of Atul Gusain for to be an Artist and explains to the readers about insight of Poetry Posters created by Atul Gusain
      The Garhwali poetry selection is also satisfactory by the Editorial team as the special Poetry poster issue covers the poets of different times and poets of different subjects and tones.
This is first time; a magazine pays attention on newer formats in Garhwali Literature.
  The issue is undoubting, a collector's issue and is a Historical mile stone for Garhwali Literature. Garhwalis will always remember this  special issue of Dhad  (May 2016) for Garhwali Literature .

              Corrupt and Immoral Administration of Baldock in Garhwal

    Kumaunis and Garhwalis did not get real relief after Nepalese rule was over.
        In the absence of Frazer, Major Baldock was the real British Administrator of Garhwal and Kumaon. In south –Pilibhit, Moradabad, Bijnor, Dehradun and west of Kumaon and Garhwal, there was British rule. In Raigarh, Sirmour and Sabathu of Himachal, there ware British battalions.  In north, in Hun region, the ruler was under hibernation. Therefore, there was no fear of attack on Kumaon and Garhwal from enemies.
        Garhwali people were already in depressed positions due to cruel Gorkha Rule. It was slight relief for the people under British rule. The people of Garhwal were feeling obliged by the help of British.
     Major Baldock was in Shrinagar. The document state that there was Tree less region around Shrinagar at that period (Dabral). However, dense forests were there from upper hills to Khhirsu. There are four drawings by Maularam and his poems (found in collection of Baijram the great grandson of Maularam) show that British officers used to enjoy through hunting and by local workers. 
       Before, Kumaon –Garhwal campaign, British high command instructed the British officers that Hill people believe in caw as goddess and mother. Therefore, officers were instructed not to kill caws for meal.
       Maularm illustrated through his poetry the Baldock killed caws in Shrinagar. The British officers used to go on the hills or cave near River bank and used to entertain. Due to British officers roaming on hills and forests, it became difficult for women visiting forests for fodder and wood and visiting was difficult for fetching water at water sources. .
    The British Army soldier Sitaram who witnessed Khalanga battle states," Most of British born officers live with their Indian keeps. Usually Indian soldiers offer their female relative to English officers for making Keeps.  Maularam criticized very badly the English officers for their bad acts about consuming Indian women.
          European officers in Shrinagar used to call prostitutes and dance with them. Many people used to send prostitutes to English officers for getting their job done from English officials. Those who could not offer prostitutes to English officers did not get favor from English officers. Suddenly, the importance of prostitutes and their agents increased high.
  Nand Ram Saklani (nephew of Shivram Saklani) was the main gatekeeper of Baldock. Nobody could enter into Bungalow without the permission of Nand Ram Saklani. Nand Ram pleased Baldock so much that later on Nadram became Tahsildar of Dehradun.

ह्यूं म डंडा -झंडा लेक अहा ! भला क्या दिन छया
राज कना हम तमसगेर  अर क्रान्तिकार्यों  लापत्ता।

कर्युं छ अनसन म्वरण तलक , टैंट लग्यां छन तैसीलम
भैर ब्वना छैं जिंदाबाद , भितर नेताजि  लापत्ता।

पुंगड़ि पटळी देकि अपणी।  बणै प्राइमरी गांव की
रोज बजाणा घंटी  बच्चा अर मास्टर जी लापत्ता।

ग्वतराचार मा ब्योली हाथ मिलाणा आँखि बि
क्वलिणा तरफां कुतगिन पंडि जी पांच मिंट खुणि   लापत्ता।

करळी स्यूंद टाई पैंट घुंघटु धर्युं छ चुफला म
पंडीजी कु चुफ्फा।  ब्योलिक धोती , ब्योलिक आंसू लापत्ता। 

पटवरिक हैल्पर टल्ली हुयां छन पुलिस की पावर मिलि ग्याया
चौकी को  द्वरु पर टकटक डंडा अर पटवरी जी   लापत्ता।

सुबेर बिटेन गुरुजी गुरुजी चरण पुजेणा छन जौंका
ब्यखुनी गुरु जी सड़कि म टुटगा अर इज्जत को   लापत्ता। 

कम्प्यूटर को युग ऐ ग्याय , अल्ट्रासाउंड जगा जगा
हर साल पैदा होण छन नैनां , अर नौन्यूं का  लापत्ता।

Shridharanand Jamloki: Expert Poet of Pathos and anger and Drama creative of Garhwali language
Critical and Chronological History of Modern Garhwali (Asian) Poetry – 34

                    Literature Historian:  Bhishma Kukreti
             A profound scholar of Sanskrit, Shridhar jam Loki is remembered in Garhwali literature for his poetries and drama writing.
                  Shridharanand Jamloki was born on5th January 1920 at Ukhimath, Chamoli Garhwal of Uttarakhand. Jamloki was Sanskrit teacher in Uttarakhand Vidyapeeth, Ukhimath, Chamoli Garhwal and retired from there.

               He published following poetry collections in Garhwali language –
                        Ronden (1955) –Poetry Collection
      He illustrated the pain and sacrifices of Shilpkar (deprived class) and poor labors in Ronden.

  The poems of Ashrumala illustrates about pain and frustration o f Daughter in laws being harassed by Mother in law. His pathos rapture is at marvelous stage in the poems. Jamloki also illustrates the geographical beauty of Garhwal in the cited poetry collection.

  The poet Jamloki observes the dangers and problems in the country in Dundabhi Dimdim- a poetry collection. The poet states that Human values are the base for Indian pride.  Jamloki supported the national government policies about education, health, scientific progress, industrialization, Panchshil etc in Dundabhi Dimdim (Khandkavya). The main cetral theme of the poetry collection is China attack on India

Jamloki also wrote a drama in Garhwali - Sita Parityag based on the episode of discarding of Sita by Rama.

            His work in Hindi literature is unpublished
Shridhar Jamloki expired on 10th January, 1984 in Ukhimath.

कालीदासै विकल करुणा मैं सुणोंदु अधीर ।।
कोई कांटा विरह दुःख मा कार्य से ह्वे प्रमत्त ,
यक्ष स्वामी शापित महिमा , भ्रष्ट जो एक साल ।
रैंदो छौ सो जख जनकजा , स्नान से पूत पाणी,
डाळी छाया मृदुल जख छै चित्रकूटा , बनौं मा।
काट्यां ज्यों ज्यों परवत पर खैक तै आठ मैना।
पी की यादों खुदि खुदि , धागुलि भी खुसीना।
आषाढ़ का प्रथम दिन ही मेघ तैं देखि तैना ,
डाँड्यों काँठ्यों ढकिका , जन हो माट हाथी उठौणू ।।

           तिसर पीढ़ीक प्रवासी का जबाब हूंद - नै नै यार इथगा पैसा कखन लाण जु घौर जये जावो।
           या यीं  तिसरी पीढ़ीक पचास सालौ बुड्याक जबाब हूंद - अरे ड्यार जाणो ज्यु तो बुल्याणु त च , छुट्टि बि बचीं छन अर एलटीसी बि मिलदी पर उख ड्यारम रौण कख च ? सब टुटि -टटी गेन  कूड़। एलटीसी अर छुट्टि लैप्स नि हो तो मि पंद्रा दिनों कुण रूरल साउथ जाणु छौं।
      जी हाँ  प्रवासी की तिसर क्या चौथी  पीढ़ी अबि बि गढ़वाळी  गांव तै घौर मानिक चलदी अर तब बि गांवुं मा कूड़ खंद्वार हूणा छन।  मजबूरी च तो क्या करे जावो। जी एक मजबूरी हो तो बताए जाव।

     जख  मीडिया या ऑफ़लाइन    माध्यमुं सवाल च  जांक जिकर संजय बुड़ाकोटी जीन कार तो बुड़ाकोटी जी जरा अपण आस पास हेरन त सै  तो पाला कि गढ़वाळ का शिक्षा विकास या अन्य आर्थिक विकास मा प्रवास्युं को 80 % हाथ मीलल।  अधिसंख्य स्कूल तो प्रवास्युं की सोच अर कर्मों से ही खुलिन।   मन्योडर इकोनॉमी तो आज बि गढ़वाळ की रीढ़ की हड्डी च।  छ कि ना बुड़ाकोटी जी ?

जरा देहरादून का गुरुराम राय स्कूलों इतिहास बाँचो तो सै।  गढ़वाळ  की उच्च शिक्षा मा गुरु राम  ऐज्युकेसन ट्रस्ट कु भौत बड़ो  हाथ च।  बुड़ाकोटी जी ! पता च ? आप तै ? कि ये ट्रस्ट का संचालक कु छया ? खमण (डबरालस्यूं ) का श्री श्रीधर  कुकरेती याने  महंत इंदिरेश चरण दास जी।  श्रीधर कुकरेती एक प्रवासी ही छौ (तब देहरादून सहारनपुर खण्ड मा आंद छौ ) । तो प्रवासी की भावना तै आप यूं शब्दुं से " फिर चुपचाप अपने बिलों में दुबके रहो"  दुत्कारणा छा ?

                कै बि कार्य करणो वास्ता पैल भावना पैदा हूंद या भावना चएंदि , फिर वैचारिक विश्लेषण चएंदी अर अंत मा कार्य सम्पादन की योजना अर फिर कार्य की पौ धरे जांद। तो कार्य से सफल हूण पैल वैचारिक विमर्श आवश्यक  च।  यदि प्रवासी वैचारिक मंथन करणा छन तो कौन सा गुनाह ह्वे गे भै ?

             उत्तराखंड आंदोलन मा क्या प्रवास्युं भूमिका कम महत्वपूर्ण छे ? यदि प्रवासी वैचारिक स्तर पर लेख आदि नि छपांदा या घौर का लोगुं से विचार विमर्श नि करदा तो क्या उत्तराखंड आंदोलन चलदो क्या ? 'हिलांस' मासिक पत्रिका का उत्तराखंड आंदोलन अर स्थानीय भाषा आंदोलन मां महत्वपूर्ण योगदान च।  अर हिलांस मुंबई से प्रकाशित हूंदी छे अर हिलांस का करता धर्ता एक प्रवासी ही छ्या -  स्व अर्जुन सिंह गुसाईं जी  ।

             भाषा की बात आई तो मि बतै द्यूं कि शुरवात से इ गढ़वाली  साहित्य विकास मा सर्वाधिक योगदान प्रवास्युं कु इ च। पंजाब का सुशील बुड़ाकोटी जी से पूछी ल्यावो।
            हाँ आप तै लगल कि प्रवासी खाली उपदेस दिंदेर बण्या छन।  क्वी बि प्रवासी बेबस , परबसी नि हूण चांदो अर उ मजबूर्युं  बस गांव म नि बसि सकणु च तो क्या वै परबसी, बेबस  प्रवासी तै अधिकार बि नी च कि वु पलायन आदि समस्याओं की छ्वीं लगावो ? यू मानवीय  अधिकार  त बिचारा प्रवासी से नी लूंठो जी !

   अर वैचारिक विमर्श का वास्ता क्वी हद्द या सीमा नि होंदी।  विचार अच्छा ह्वावन तो टिपे  ही जांदन। प्रवासी वास्तव मा गढ़वाल का , अपण पट्टी का , अपण गांवका सचमुच मा विकास चांदु अर उखमा वैकी गाणी -स्याणी  पर अविश्वास कतै नि करे सक्यांद।

     फिर एक विचार का नाम आपन सूणि होलु - क्रॉस फर्टिलाइजेशन। याने दुसर जाति का साथ मिलण अर विचारूं मा बि क्रॉस फर्टिलाजेसन हूंद।   यदि बेबस, परबसि , परभक्षी प्रवासी विचार दीणु च तो ऊँ विचारूं पर मनन कर ल्यावो , विचार सही छन तो अपणै ल्यावो ,  नि छन तो रण द्यावो।  कैंपणि बोल च बल -बुढ़िया भीख नि दीणाइ त नि दे पण अपण  कुत्ता तै त संभाळ।  आप प्रवास्युं सलाह नि मानो किन्तु इन त नि ब्वालो - अच्छा ! अब हम तै दिल्ली -मुंबई वाळ समझाल !

             Birth and speedy Development of new Corruption in British Garhwal

    There were corrupt and oppressive officials in Gurkha and Garhwali rule too.  Frazer advised or instructed Baldock to keep the administration as it was in old time and not to change suddenly (Saxena). Baldock was busy in tour and entertainment there. Therefore, the corrupt officials and prostitute agents became powerful in the administration. People had to offer bribes to prostitute agents and officials for getting actions for their applications.  If the English or high cadre officer signed on application for an action, the peon or record keeper never forwarded the  applications without taking bribe from the applicants. The lower cadre employees used to take commission on the purchase by High cadre officials. Many times, those officials used to free a criminal and used to penalize the innocent ones as officials used to get bribe from criminals.

            British officers handed over the responsibility for law and order to 500 Santari/police men under Baldock. A few policemen were Gorkha from Nasari battalion or those soldiers who changed the side when knew that Gurkha kingdom was coming to an end. Those soldiers were placed at regional head quarters of Garhwal and a few were under Superintendent of Shrinagar.
       The situation did not change even in British rule. The officers used to announce decision without any analysis and research.
                             Trembled Judiciary 
        Maularam illustrated a shaky judiciary system under Baldock. At every step, officers used to take bribe and in that case normal justice was lacking in Shrinagar and other places in British Garhwal. Witnesses were sold or purchased.
